Hey all,

Does anyone know how I can get in contact with some from NGR Performance? I ordered one of their BOV's the other day and have yet to hear from anyone. I have also had no paypal requests for payment. I have sent two e-mails and still no response. Has anyone had this problem before? Any information you can provide me with is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have any proof of this? I've owned the NGR, the Greddy and the eBay. All have significant differences.

I'm really not convinced you know what you're talking about. The NGR is NOT an inferior eBay clone. It's superior to the original type s in just about every way. Besides, buying your part doesn't pay the guys who designed the legit type s. It's discontinued, obviously, so buying the NRG is not doing a disservice to Greddy.

Not trying to jump on ya, just see a need for further clarity. It's not so simple as one ought to support greddy and therefore not purchase an allegedly inferior product, which happens to be superior.

All NGR does is buy the same China made assembly that all the other Type S clones use and put in a GReddy style spring and their custom designed diaphragm. You could build an NGR BOV for $60.00 or you could buy a China made product with a 10.00 diaphragm for $150.00. Your choice.

They must have machining done to the tops then LOL

Yeah they got something to prevent that LOL, not quite sure what it was though

Thanks Curt! You're really helpful. I'll try to get pics posted tomorrow morning. I'm not planning on running big boost AT all, because this is my daily driver and I need it to last at least until i graduate from college and get a real job. (poor college student :p) The NGR one isn't too badly priced, so i'll be sure to get one when i get my paycheck next week. Just need to figure out this whole "flange" deal :p

No problem, glad I could help

The NGR I bought for the talon is perfect. Better diaphragm than the Greddy unit, doesn't leak, high quality casting, and good customer support from NGR.

This think is quick, sounds good, and screams quality when you get it. This is not a knockoff, its a new BOV with an old sound. The GSX has the TiAL Q, and unless you're going all out, this is one of the best BOVs for our cars after the 1g.

I actually tried, doesn't fit. After getting my NGR, I disassembled it and compared it to the knockoff piece of junk that was on the car before. They look similar, but are, in fact, quite different on the machining on the inside.

I'll see if I still have the old knock off for some pics. Stop spreading rumors and hearsay. If you know nothing about the product, hold your tongue. (I used to be a naysayer about this BOV until I tried it myself)

I'm glad someone else can actually speak from experience. Couple of keyboard warriors in here who've never handled the parts.

haha amen! sorry to say i have no money to buy any bov, so i guess im going to have to deal with my broken ebay one for a while... i'm missing my recirculating hose so it's blowing into the atmosphere. yes, my engine dies if i go into neutral at high speed, but will there be any long term damage?

I don't think you need to worry about any damage. I'm not saying you shouldn't get it fixed when you can but since the engine isn't under a load when it goes rich you should be fine

the ngr is different in many ways, have you ever held one in person with a ebay one in the other hand. They seem to be composed of different alloys and the ngr is a very nice piece. Why would you want to buy a used inferior part when you can get a brand new much stronger unit for almost the same price. I think this one is a complete no brainer. Especially since they are continually redesigning the interior of the bov for maximum performance.

cool beans. but would that possibly be what's making my check engine light come on? it only comes on usually in 2nd or 3rd gear, right when the boost is spooling. turns off when i dump the clutch to change gears.

As I posted early, I finally got a hold of NGR. They did not have any bov's in stock. When I receive and install it, I'll make sure to do a review....

After all the great reviews and comments I have seen, I'm sure I made a good choice. If there turns out to be a problem, I know their customer support is there and will bust their ass to help me out.

I'm not quite sure whats causing that. I don't think venting your blow off valve would cause a check engine light like your describing.

Maybe someone else will chime in with some help. I'm really not sure myself :hmm:

haha thanks. i bought the car for 3 grand, but since it's not stock i kind of have no idea what's going on with it. I have individual coils instead of one coil pack? and lots of ebay parts :p guess i gotta take it to a shop to get it checked out.

Little update:

Ordered the bov on Janurary 26th. They were working on another batch (told it would take 2 weeks). Still haven't received the bov. Gotten a few responses from the company, all saying they'll be ready soon. Now I'm usually understanding of problems like this, but it's getting to the point where I'm gonna file a claim and get my money back.

I advise anyone who wants to purchase a bov from them, make sure they're in stock before you place your order. That is all for now.

Anyone want to buy my Blitz BOV? It definately holds the pressure... but personally I don't like the sneezing sound. I watched a couple of NGR's tube vids, and all reviews I read were great about their type-s. In fact, I want one.

March 10th and I finally got it. I dunno if they finally finished the batch...or sent me one because I promised to issue a refund.

Make Sure They Have Them In Stock Before You Order People!!!!

I'm sorry to bring this thread back but I have what i thought was a NGR type S BOV, which got damaged by my hood. I wanted to get a new purple housing to swap out but they told me its an ebay copy of their BOV. I got this valve in a package deal with a rebuilt motor and they seller said he got it off ebay.(NGR used to sell them on ebay..) When I opened it up it had the red diaphragm and looked good quality so I contacted NGR and showed them the photos of the inside. They are telling me its not a NGR but one from CXracing. Well I'm not convinced since all the knockoffs have that paper thin black diaphragm that rip easily. Take a look for yourself... 1).Does anyone have a NGR knockoff with a red diaphragm?? 2.) Anyone open up an NGR and have pics to show??

Thanks!

I have an ebay "ngr" knockoff with the good NGR diaphram. Getting to be pretty common now.

The diaphram is identical to the NGR. No reason to switch it out as it looks like they are exactly the same. Holds 15psi all day long since I got it (6 months ago).

I know this is old but this is just my experience with NGR.
I think that NGR is very helpful. I ordered one and it was sent to the wrong paypal addy. which was my past 2 addy. We emailed each other EVERYDAY or EVERY OTHER DAY for a whole month trying to figure out what I can do since I'm a college student and only live a few miles away from my old place. I went to check and nothing. There was only so much I could do but they helped me and told me what was needed to do, etc. Came in the other day and I think they're great! :thumb:

hopefully by now you've gotten one/maf trans/customized one
