Right now I am running on NGK IRIDIUM plugs BPR6E-IX on my 1G Talon TSi... Everyone on this forum told me those plugs are not the good ones for my car so I have read the good one is the BPR6ES (Standard plug) but here in Mexico is a little bit difficult to find it... I found the BPR6EY (NGK V-Power).. Will it be Ok for my application??? :talon:

Just order them online, they're still cheap. And get the NGK BPR7es ;)

The problem is that it will take a little bit long to arrive and I want to change it now... but should I install the BPR6EY or it will still the risk of damage my engine like the Iridium and platinum plugs?

Can someone give me an advice???? I mean, must I change my Iridium plugs for this BPR6eY or I must leave it like that???

I will apreciate a lot any suggestion.... :thumb:

Yes, those V-power plus will be fine. They are better to use than the iridiums and cheaper. Only difference is that they cost a little more than the standard coppers. See if you can find some BPR7EY. Our cars seem to like the one stage colder plug...... :dsm:

Thanks man!!!!! I really apreciate a lot your help :thumb: :thumb: .. I will install those V-Power 6EY to replace the Iridium plugs... About the coolder plugs (7ES or 7EY), it's seems that here they don't have it in NGK.. what I can find is the Autolite #62 that is the cross reference of the BPR7ES but I don't have any experience with Autolite Plugs

Autolite make a pretty good plug. More of my 600+ HP customers use Autolite over NGK. It's all about personal preference though. :thumb:

There's no reason for you to go to the cooler plugs. With your mods, they'll make your car run worse. Just stick to the 6's and you'll be set.
I was just thinking ahead for him. His future plans are "a bigger Intercooler and EBC" which could easily put him at almost 280 HP and in that case, he would want a colder plug. :thumb:

Here is my mod list:

Free mods + cat. converter removed, k & N air filter, Suppertrapp exahust, Balance shafts removed, MBC at 15-16 Psi, Prothane Motor Mounts, Unohortodox Underdrive Pulley, Gauges, Commetic HP Head Gasket, NGK Wire Set, 14B Ported Turbo and I believe that's all.

Will my car work better with those BPR7ES (AutoLite #62)??? or must I continue with the stock 6EY (AutoLite #63)??

I'll be waiting advices... Thanks for everything anyway!!! :thumb:

The Iridiums will be fine; you don't need to change them. It's the platinum plugs that suck.
There has been numerous threads about how the iridiums and platinums both suck. I've actually used the iridiums. I paid $12 per plug and they fowled out extremely fast. And they gave me hard starts and a shitty idle. The only NGK's that I like are the standard coppers and V-powers. :dsm:

Just because there's been "numerous threads" about it doesn't make it true. I have used the Iridiums also, and had a smoother idle and did not have any fouling problems at all. Maybe you just used a plug that was a heat range or so too cold. Extreme Motorsports also recommends them, and they know a lot more about this engine than I do.

The true is I never had problems with those iridium plugs within a year. They didn't fouled and also have a smooth idle... But I decided to change those plugs because almost everyperson in this forum told me that when they saw my mod list... :thumbdown :thumbdown So I began to worry... I will try with those V-power and if my car doesn't like it, I will replace them once again for the Iridium plugs... :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks!
