I'm shopping around for new plugs and wires (looking for 6es as my engine is untouched) and noticed that DSMparts.com only has 7es plugs listed on their site, so I called and asked if they could get the 6es's. The salesman told me that they recommend 7es for all DSM turbos regardless of mods. This sounds like the opposite of what I've heard, but apparently the salesman had run 7es's in a mildly modded motor for 5 years. Any input?

I have 7es's in my car with mild mods and they works great. However I do have the boost turned up to 15 psi and I'm not sure how the 7es's would perform at stock levels. I think the 7es's would work great if you performed some mild mods, however I think you should stick to 6es if you intend to leave it stock.

I don't intend to keep it stock, but I'm trying to get it 100% before I mod anything, so I'm doing all the usual tuneup stuff. Will my performance or plug life suffer with the 7es? The only reason I care is it would save me $10, but if there would be a degradation in performance, I'll just get the 6es's.
