First off, thanks for the add. Im new to the dsm platform, and new to turbo cars as well.

I bought a 94 talon with a 6 bolt, im currently in the process of rebuilding the motor. Can i remove these vac sensors (drivers side firewall), and the fuse box, if ive already deleted the charcoal canister, iacv, ect? It has electric fans wired in to an aftermarket fan controller
Ive also gotten rid of cruise control, ac, power steering.

Thanks again, sorry if this is an easy answer

A.c., and power steering are "luxury" items that i dont want/need. I have daily drivers, this is going to be an every ince in a while car.

Stickers add horse power, that's why the previous owner had them custom installed.

Im just curious if i can get rid of the vac valves. Or if somebody can tell me what they do

No, you need to re-install those pieces. Removing items like power steering and ac components is an un necessary and unwise decision. It will negatively affect resale value and drive-ability of the car

Or just keep putting more stickers on.

I hope that is sarcasm.

You can get rid of the fuse/relay box for the AC and the vac lines pictured.

I haven't owned a 1G in a very long time and I don't remember those vac lines specifically. But looking at them they are connected to sensors - so I'm going to venture I guess they are connected to the HVAC controls and probably also tie with the CC you deleted. You might be able to delete some of them like you want to, hopefully someone can confirm.

I'd also suggest getting yourself a downloadable or hardcopy of a FSM so you can look things up easily.

EDIT: NVRMD ... person above posted at the same time as me and confirmed.

Deleting the A/C and emissions stuff is all well and good, but I'd recommend leaving the power steering. DSMs are not Miatas: they're heavy, and you'll hate muscling it around. When the suspension is properly setup, there's already a great amount of road feel, and none of the depowered racks that I know of offer what DSM steering really needs: a quicker ratio. Besides, any parasitic loss a power steering pump may have on your motor could easily be overcome upping the boost a few psi.

Thanks for the heads up on the power steering, I have a tt 300zx that i empowered the rack in and have no issues with it. I didn't take into consideration the weight of the awd car though. I probably end up keeping it in that case

I assumed they had something to do with the vac system, but wasn't sure if they were needed. I'll ne taking them out next time i get a chance to play with the vehicle.
Thanks for the heads up on the fsm. I didn't even think about looking for one, just assumed I would need a hard copy.

Yea those are solenoids used to control egr, fuel pressure and something else. U don't really need them unless u need emissions done. I would have to agree on the power steering. I've driven my 92 gsx without power steering for several years and now that I have a stock talon it just makes it a lot more enjoyable to drive. Unless u want to look like Popeye, keep the PS.

I don't know much about 300ZXs, but I would assume they have better weight balance making it easier to maneuver at low speeds. Especially in comparison to RWD platforms, much of the weight of a DSM is on the nose because of the transverse engine and transmission layout, the transfer case, and the front axles.

If you remove your a.c. compressor bracket, make sure to install washers to take up the space where the d/s axle bolts to the block. I’ve snapped that bolt on my 2g and my 1g i purchased was the same. Luckily I was able to get the broken bolt out on both

I second the keep power steering but on that note my talon doesn't have it and it's really not that bad I'm by no means a big guy and I don't have to many complaints about it.(6'1 at 145lb)
You sir are a twig

And yes I'm serious about putting it back to stock. Tis a slippery slope filled with stickers and cut corners that separate us from the Honda crowd. He seems to be one shocker sticker away from group shots with rusty hondas

The stickers will be removed! I hate them, they should all die!

They have damn close to 50/50. I'm sure that helps

The Popeye look would be cool, but power steering will be going back on.

Thanks for the help guys

You have a giant Greddy sticker blocking the whole bottom of your windshield....

And removing power steering, A/C, cruise control, EVAP, etc. is not cutting corners. If he wants to get rid of them who cares. I don't have my A/C, Evap, or cruise control. I'm sure I could sell my car for just as much as if I had it. OP is also in Washington, not Texas. Huge difference.

If he changes his mind its not the end of the world. He can always put it back in.

P.s. I still rock some stickers on my rear and quarter windows. No Ragrets.

Lol. That car was parked out long ago.

Just trying to share my ten cents. I've been a grouch lately no doubt
