so here's the story bear with me, when i explain i jump around so i'll promise not to jump around that much and keep to the story.
car toasted the turbo because of overheating / wasn't getting enough coolant for some odd reason / would bubble boil over and ended up blowing the seals on the turbo. I took the car to a friends shop (owns a dsm / went to UTI in Charlotte) he replaced the turbo for me (i never had taken off a turbo, so i watched him as he did it to learn).
Took the car home, and changed out the headgasket a few days after due to overheating, shortly after the waterpump blew and i ended up changing it on the side of the road. (the real problem was the waterpump not sealing right, waterpump line was short for some reason) i took it home, pulled the manifold off the car to find the coolant line wasn't bolted on and was a bit off from the waterpump.
car is running fine, leaking oil. (found out threw here the oil filter turns by itself after balance shaft removal) I take the car to my brothers place because of the oil leak (trying to sell our house and now there's oil stains out front) get to the house, and notice smoke coming out (wtf)
smoke is coming from the manifold, 3 bolts of the manifold are loose so i tightened them up. (even replaced some of the bolts) ran car a bit, noticed smoke coming from 2 section of the car, ONE is from the bottom right bolt of the manifold (there's abit of oil there, don't know where it came from though) and another one is by the thermostat (replaced the gasket there, and it still seems to be leaking something) (i've also replaced the thermostat)
the car is also idling funny. i have to give it gas to keep it on. my boost gauge is reading at 10lbs of vacuum, when before it was running at 20lbs of vacuum. (car is only boosting between 8-10lbs of boost) wtf??
also during acceleration i hear a loud ticking coming from the engine i think. (but i could be mistaken, because i hear it on the inside and it could be something else) car takes a few seconds to start (turns over a bit) but i kinda figure it's the alternator and or starter.
things i've replaced / sealed:
headgasket
thermostat / everything that connects to the block from where the thermostat is
waterpump
valve cover gasket's been sealed
new spark plugs / wires
timing is lined up right
