Hello dsmtuner,

well I'm new to dsm (got mine for about a 7 month) haven't tune it but recently have begun.

so heres my prolbems-

1- greddy bov heres a link to how my looks like

so the question here is what do i do with the under nipple? I know the top nipple is where i connect the line but then the bottom is left open.

heres another pic of someone's bov that they connect the 2 hose

is this right? i mean the under nipple does seem to leak some air when the engine is running....

AND whats the adjusting for? hard? soft?

2-. I also have a turbonetic 25 psi MBC. I don't have the manual for the mbc so i don't know how to adjust or operate the mbc. don't know how much psi boost is for one turn. heres a link to my mbc

3- Can any show me a diagram or pic (even better) of the actual car and how to intall the mbc on a 1g (i have a 1 g gsx).

4- I have a 16g turbo and when it reaches redline, i can feeling the fuel pump not sending enough fuel... will i have to do any engine mod (dsmlink/safc) if i install a bigger fuel pump? Will my ecu be able to handle the more fuel without cutting off?

Hey I think I can help

1- The bov vavle you showed us in the picture, has two nipples. One of the flange and one of the BOV itself. The one of the BOV attaches to a vacuum souce. The bottom e one looks like it is a boost pressure source, most cars run a line from the pressure source to the wastegate. That's what the second nipple was placed there for. You can cap it off if you have another source for boost pressure.

If its not a pressur source then cap it off and run one line to the vacuum source, I really done see a need for a "t" to be used and connect both nipples.

2-Like all manual boost controller it uses a spring system to control boost. The most you turn the nob the tenser you make the spring, thus increasing the amount of boost needed to move the spring so that pressure travels to the wastegate.

You need a boost gauge so that you can just adjust the controller manual after you check the boost level. Trial and error really. If you have a buddy he/she can help you out by watching the gauge or changing the setting while you check boost levels.

3- This has been answered so many times on this forum. run the boost controller between the pressure source and the wastegate. There is a forum already up that has a diagram. Look for it. You are going to be told that a lot on these forums. Please look before hand.

Look in the tech articles next time. They have you answers. MBC

4- Read up on 16g supporting mods. Again these answers are available to you without looking very hard. You need larger injectors and also tuning software(whether it be standalone, or piggyback).

16g runs nicely on 190-255 fuel pump and 560+ injectors. You can still run it on your current set up but don't raise the boost or anything. You wouldn't be able to support high boost levels on a 16g.

I running max 14psi and then it holds at 12psi @7000 rpm in 3rd gear. This is WITHOUT a mbc. I believe by installing the 16g turbo increases my boost about 4psi. I think the stock boost for 1g are 9-11 psi.

So if i install a 3000 gt vr4 fuel pump (180lph) into my 1g, there should be more fuel flow?

If you're gonna go through the trouble of replacing your fuel pump I recommend upgrading to a walbro 190 or 255 lph. since they're only like $90 new and half that used.. Keep in mind that upgrading your fuel pump alone will not allow you to increase boost safely! You will need supporting mods for that. follow an upgrade path that suits your needs..

No problem man, I am glad I can help out.

Your turbo is loosing boost pressure at high rpm. Thats is what happens to all turbos that are that small. 14b, 16g, they loose pressure. Also this is contributed to the fact that the gen 1 bov can hold only 17 psi max, then is starts to leak. Also There are some turbos out there that hold boost very well until redline, but they are aftermarket. I am running a 14b also currently with a 7cm housing.

The only way you turbo will increase boost is if you have a MBC or a stiffer spring in the wastegate. Turbos just dont magically increase when they are slapped into another car. The 16g you are putting in probably has the same wastegate spring as your 14b, 11psi. I know that is the stock Mitsu wastegate psi setting. You will need a boost controller to change the boost, or an aftermarket wastegate with the springs set to a certain psi.

wastegates are measured in bar=14.7psi or psi. bar being atmospheric pressure. Look up tial wastegates and springs if you are interested.

Yes there will be more flow with a larger fuel pump, but keep in mind, like others have said, you need tuning software and supporting mods. with increase fuel means more pressure, you will need an aftermarket regulator.

I don't think the bottom nipple functions as a vacuum source nor will it help if you leave alone. If you leave it alone and it is a pressure source that means your turbo is leaking boost. Common sense.

I can only assume, the way it is designed and presented within the pictures that it is a pressure source. It is right before the BOV and that is where pressure is forming (within the intercooler piping). If you cap it off it shoudl be fine, although you need a pressure source/boost source to run your wastegate properly.

what exactly does the hard/soft adjustment on the bov for?

A BOV is operated by an internal spring. At a certain point, the spring opens and releases the pressurized air (boost). Making the spring harder means more boost is required to open the valve. Making it softer has the opposite effect.

It's possible, our stock pumps can do about 140lph. Whatever you choose, even if you decide stay with the stocker, do the fuel pump rewire mod.

But if you do go big, think about getting an AFPR too, because sooner or later, you're going to overrun the stock regulator.
