A Real Newbie Question...

Hi. I have a real newbie question about BOV's. 98 GST stock is 14psi boost right? You install a BOV and you can boost up to 20+ per say... Wont this blow your head gasket??? Just curious.

A blow off valve (BOV) releases boost pressure when the throttle closes to prevent compressor surge. It isn't designed to control boost......that is what a wastegate is for.

Your BOV is designed to hold closed up to 14psi. Anything abouve that it starts to leak.

ok my buddy installed some cheesy boost gauage i guess. I got a greddy type S on it now, and the guage shows sometimes 20+ boost.. But anyhow is it possible to blow ## head gasket if theres to much psi boost?

Its possable to blow your motor running that much boost on a stock turbo,motor,fuel setup
As far as the head gasket - the stock metal gasket can take that.

On a stock 2g your more likely to blow your turbo from that much boost then your headgasket. The t25 just starts blowing hot air after about 15-16psi. Fix your boost and set it at 16 and it should feel faster then now.
