i need to know where the positive terminal on the starter goes. Lets say the starter is already in the engine is it away from the firewall or next to it.? thanks

In case that picture wasn't clear, the positive wire is on the block side with the starter installed and the ground is on the firewall side.

I just took mine out to lube the starter gears last night and it was a royal bi***. Have fun!

Um..., Ground wire? There is no ground wire on a starter. It connects to ground through the bolts and and mount.

Kraniun, the connections on your starter may be reversed from what is shown it this picture, but regardless, the "B" or battery terminal will be opposite from the "M" terminal.

Sorry about that Ron. I guess I need some more coffee. I meant the field coil wire. The ground actually runs to one of the starter mouting bolts.

I'm getting closer and closer to turning the PM feature off except for staff...
