Newbie ? about 6-bolt oil pans.

Ok, here is my problem. I noticed a puddle (rather large) of oil underneath the oil pan so I decided to re-torque the bolts to the recommended level. Later that night I notice even more oil sitting underneath the pan.

My question is, where the bolts actually go into the pan, are they supposed to be perfectly level with the rest of the pan? I noticed on mine, the holes are actually raised a bit higher than the rest of the pan, is this normal? If not, I need a new oil pan, heh, and they aren't exactly cheap.

Not sure what you mean, can you post a pic? I would immediately say no they should be flat, but some clarification should be helpful.

I'm currently at school so there is no way I can actually take my oil pan off and get a picture, but I'm pretty sure I could draw up some sort of picture on Photoshop in a little bit.

It sort of looks like this, ______---_______----________----_____ The lower part is the pan, flat as can be, the raised part are the holes. I guess that's as good as I can get as of now.

The reason they probably looked raised is because your oil pan comes stock with silicon for a gasket instead of a material one. You are seeing the silicone that squished out of the holes. Only real way to fix a leak like that is to take the oilpan off and get a gasket for it plus silicon.

Unfortunately, that's not correct with this situation. I'm sorry this is being such a difficulty The raises are after the pan has been cleaned off to it's furthest extent, with the holes still raised. I've replaced the gasket 100s of times but still leaks profusely.
