This is a friends turbo. It is for his daughter's daily driver for high school. What do you think.

I think she's going to kill herself j/k. Turbo DSM's are not good first cars for teenagers. HOLY S__T, hers have a 50 trim OMG , just tell her to be really carefull. I've seen teens wreck bone stock DSM's.

I think his daughter is spoiled, and most likely going to wrap another car around some large inanimate object... but that's my objective opinion based on the bigass shiny turbo, and assuming appropriate supporting mods.... I could be wrong but damn... can I have that little shiny one in the background? I just need a turbo for my car (and a manifold, and exhaust pipes, and guages and fuel injectors.... and the list goes on)

Sorry to say, but she has been driving for over two years now with a 12 second car at altitude. Read- 5800ft. So, she has been trapping 107-112 for two years here.

Oh, its not a 50 trim. PTE SCM 61 to be exact. Just want to clarify that. We go big here. We intend to drop a full second. After she learns how to drive again.

Dsmlink is her savior.

Steve

Well if she is as good a driver as you say she is then more power to her.
-Mike

Not good, just better than others. I put no less than 5mph on her in her own car. We change it so much she never has time to get use to the car. The only trouble she has is burning through clutches. She doesn't like the jerkyness of a six puck. We installed a street disc last night, so we will see how this one holds up. With other things of course.

Steve

Was the 6-puck sprung or unsprung? A sprung 6-puck can just be as drivable if you get used to it. You see, your average teenage girl cannot drive for crap that's why most people replied in that manner. The girl in question seems to know what she is doing and if it's an SCM -61, more power to her, literally. I have seen a 15-16yr old girl successfully drive her Dad's drag car (150-160mph traps - maybe a weight saving strategy  ) at the dragstrip so I am very welcoming to decent female drivers. God knows we need more out there. Good luck with that project. :thumb:

damn wish my dad would just buy me a turbo, i have to work my ass off to save for my car, its hard enough for even car payments man! ;)

Thanks Martin. We got the car running today. It has been down since thanksgiving. She warped her RPS pressure plate. So we were baffled for a while until we tore it all down to measure stuff. Ran great toady. Just wouldn't rev past 5000rpm. Then my friend called me and told me the speedometer wasn't working either. OOPS! That was my job to bolt the tranny in and do the speedometer gear. Bolted in, but forgot to plug it in. Fired her up, let the car rip, 8000rpm in a hurry. Fixed.

Martin, as soon as the feed and return line come in, the big boy is going on. Next week its off to the dyno to see what she has.

hi,

what turbo is that in the background ?

was it on the 12sec car ?
specs ? performance ? source ?

thanks

No, the 12 second car(my black 1G) had a 60-1. That turbo is on another 12 second car(5800ft above sea level). That is the turbo that my friends daughter had.

Its a Forced Performance FP 25/44. 44lb/min garret compressor wheel, not sure on the exhuast side. Not very efficient. Rated at 400hp.

It is basically a ball bearing 20G. Only with a small exhuast side. 20+psi @ 2700rpm. On a 2.0L. So she gets there quick. That turbo has been maxed out for a while though. She laid down 357awhp 362tq @20psi with the little guy.

Comp housing lookedlike a 50tim for abitbut that turbine heelis a stage 5 right?Looks big enough formy fist. Must be 3" exducer. Mark

I amgoing to be running a 60-1 this season. Did youput down 440HP with the 60-1 and 720ccinj's? Mark

Yep, 447AWHP 428Tq @25psi. That was on stock cams, 1G intake manifold, exhuast manifold, o2 housing, stock ecu and 720's. The datalogger had them at 122%dc. OMG .

PTE uses the same compressor cover for most of thier turbos. Believe me its a T-61 intake wheel and T350 exhuast whell.

Steve

Man that's wild! I need some new, larger injectors! I have 650's:>( Was that on race fuel and my stage 3 is also known as a t-31 I believe.Mark

Wow is this girl single? I am in Colorado too! Just kidding. Kick a$$ turbo though! :thumb: What is the smaller turbo that the PTE is replacing? Is it for sale?

That was on 110 leaded gas. Was a stage 3 T31 wheel.

She's taken sorry. The smaller turbo if a FP 25/44. Basically a ball bearing 20G. As of right now it is not for sale. We are going to be putting it on the race acar just to get it running while the manifold for the GT-42 is being built.

Steve

Lemme know next time youre down at MAC. I work just a little ways from there.

Will do Quinn. We aren't sure if we are going to dyno with the 680's or just wait a week and get RC engineering 1000's. It will be soon. Before bandimere opens.

We want to get Tara on the track opening day. They have test and tune on the 8th and 9th. Both are day tests.

Steve

Get the 1000s - you wont regret it. I may be going to dyno my car pretty soon. Might be going at the same time as you... ;)
