heres the deal i had my tranny rebuilt last week, when i went to get it, started it and it was making a new sound when you crank the motor. at first i didnt think anything about it cause i was happy to have my car back. well i had balljoints put in a few days after i got my car back and when my mech started my car he was like WTF somethings not right with your starter. so i took my car back to the guy that rebuilt it and he said he never touched the starter but it sounded to him like the bendix was going out in my starter. so i just installed my new starter like 45 min ago and its still making this sound, kinda like a rubbing sound coming from the starter area. the sound is hard to describe. all i know is the sound wasnt their when i gave the guy my car and after i got my car back it had this new sound. someone please give me some insight cause i dont wanna hafta relpace any more parts for at least a few more weeks. if john is reading this post any of your vast tranny knowledge would be great.

If the noise wasn't there before, take it back and insist that it be fixed.

Remember, if the converter was changed- the starter ring gear was too.

well i got it fixed. thru all this i found out that the tranny in my 92 talon came out of a 90 laser. the sound i heard was the starter riping the teeth off the top of the ring gear.
