I am almost certain that I am in need of a tranny rebuild for my 98 gst. I will likley fumble through this on my own rather then pay a shop (No Money). So if anyone has any experience with this I would like to hear from you. I would like to know what I am getting myself into befor I start so I can be better prepared. Thanks in advance....

These pictures were taken when I was at IPT after my trans crapped out on me...
Once I saw the internals of my trans, then I really decided I much rather leave it to a pro.
It's a lot of work....but good luck..

Get a factory manual or something with all the specs your gonna need. It looks alot more complicated because everything is scattered around in the pictures. Get a clean work area and keep everything in the exact order you took it out and pay attention to wave springs and giant c-clips cause some of them go in a certain way.

I have a 98 gst A/T tranny that I took out of my car when I did the M/T swap that you can use while you rebuild yours. Or rebuild this one and swap it in with no down time. $200 for the tranny, shift kit thats installed and shipping included. gotta get it out of my shop. Worked fine when I took it out. Let me know if you are interested.

I don't have to tell anyone that books only take you so far....you see where this is going?
