New GS-T. first mods?

i just recently bought a '99 GST for literally a grand. the guy was moving and coulndt bring it with him. the car is perfect except for the fact thats its an automatic. What are some good first parts to get.

sounds like your on the right path, you for sure got a steal on the car though!
but if i were you, 16g good for 350 and is probably the best street car turbo, spools faster

SSQ makes lots of noise and also do not upgrade your turbo with out having supporting mods FIRST!.... i know you want to hook it up but do it right start with intercooler pipe kit exhaust then go for dsmchip or a pigyback and a boostcontroller you do that first and youll love the outcome over stock

Mods fuel, wideband, boost gauge, tuning device evoscan, dsmlink, or a logger. Take your time thats how you learn what you need and dont, youll see.

haha, how about a bigger turbo?

bigger turbo is fine im running a 14b on my 95 tsi rather then the t25 that should be on yours if its stock. i felt a big gain even though its a 1g turbo. with that said im runnin g the 14b with stock fuel system on 14psi with no problems at all. also got a fmic and bov

Do the free mods 1st! You can take the restricter out of the boost controller which will up your boost to about 14lbs which is safe for the fuel system you have. I'd do a boost leak test, also.

Do some research man!!! Welcome to the world of DSM'S!!! Our cars dont like loud bovs. The loud swooosh sound you hear is the air venting to the atmosphere. That means its not recirculating back into the system and will make your car run like crap. The only way to run a non recirc bov without venting is to get some sort of fuel managing. Thats why the guys are saying to get a 1g bov. They are easy to recirc and hold up very well. You dont need the swoosh sound to be fast. Throw a 1g bov and a boost controller on that baby and go walk the dog on that srt. On the track of course!!

Then you need to check out the Dyno Challenge (DSM Dyno Challenge - Highest Horsepower), find people running power close to what you want and look at their mod list.
