We are making the plans to be at the Shoot Out this year again so maybe thats the place to try hard for that illusive 7 sec pass.
Can't wait to see you guys in Norwalk!
Thanks everyone, for the first time I'm starting to question really how much more power the auto can handle. There's nothing hurt or wrong with the trans right now but I'm cautiously watching. This spring I replaced my 2/1/2 year old trans due to totally being wore out. Kinda funny though, I may start having Metro check them every 50 passes or so just to see. I think if we can get on a well prepped track this season may just end with some pretty darn good times. We'll se. How many passes on that trans?
That's just sick!!! What converter are you guys running?? And do you have a mod list for us to check out?
I really dont keep a full count but maybe 160ish 1/4 mile passes. Ive broke only ring and pinion and one spider, the trans prior to this had a shorter life due to ejecting a center diff out, which is very common on violent launches.
Violent launches you say??? Nah, nothing violent about a 1.2 60' time huh?
Mod list, Hmmmmm, wiseco hd 9:0to1, filled block, my ported head, GSC S3r cams, Kiggly race only springs, hla, trigger disc. Magnus dry sump, intake, alt delete, FIC 2150's, Metro 2g auto with precision 9.5 billet converter, FP HTA 105 hybrid turbo, ETS water to air. 3000gt rear diff with 300m shafts. E98 fuel.
What's the difference between the S3's and S3R's? Nothing turned up in some cursory research.
Congrats by the way!
My cams are custom one offs Greg wanted me to try, believe it or not only 11.7mm of lift 280 something duration.
I've also looked into the straight axle conversion but refuse to do it. I dont care so much about weight, it's waaaaay cooler to run fast on stock IRS, mine is still 20 year old bushings and stock components other then Ksport coilovers.

amazing
That's not too far off the plain jane GSC S3s I have.. maybe its secret sauce is in the overlap and lift at 0.050?
