As Mike has posted for me we had a pretty good outing this last weekend, NO 7 pass but thats clearly my fault I got greedy. The 8.07 pass was only at 48-50 psi, we then turned it up to 53-55 guaranteeing the 7, but I was also after the 180 mph trap so we chose to spray second gear, well needless to say she spun all the way to the 1/8th, time is lost and I got booted off the track and wrote up. Oh well I do have all the bars to finish the cage. Thanks everyone for following my season this year, As far as rpm through the traps... well it's pegging my 10k tach Im guessing around 11,000. Ill post more data when I know it, Oh and for the record, I drove her back in the trailer and she just need a fuel fill up to go back out, Theres still some more left in her, I did have one pass at the Shoot Out where we hit 63psi Still rocking all stock IRS with coil over too

A little rpm goes a long way.. Especially on my new AWD trans/FWD Final Drive setup courtesy of Shep.

Just play around a bit with tire sizes here and remember the auto's will have some slip to deal with that will inflate the engine speed at which they hit a certain mph:

1G AWD AT with factory FD and a 26" tire (without growth) will only need to turn ~9000rpm to touch 170mph in 3rd gear if the converter was locked. Obviously, even efficient converters will need a considerably higher crank speed than that as he pointed out.

Just food for thought with these numbers..
My 1G AWD MT w/ 1G FWD FD and a 26" tire will do 170mph on a 26" tire at ~10000rpm in 3rd, 7600rpm in 4th and a mere ~6000 in 5th

Shifting at 10k in each gear would get out of 1st at 60mph, 110mph in 2nd, 167 in 3rd, 224 in 4th and a theoretical 280 in 5th.

The Fastest a 4G63 has yet been is Reichen's Evo 2 at ~238mph with something like 1200whp. More impressively that was done over a relatively short distance, a bumpy-ass one mile course. The man's balls must have provided most of the stabilizing balance.

The amount of power required to do 280mph, even in the slipperiest DSM would best Brent's 6 second car by a huge margin. Provided you developed the aero to keep it from taking off or digging in and you had enough distance.

I know you've probably posted it before somewhere but can you let us know what Head Gasket you guys use for 50 plus pounds of boost and live...

It's my own set up that through trial and error I've managed to make work pretty damn reliable, solid copper HG, thickness is determined by how much decking has taken place on the head and block to keep heights to zero. O ringed block and head. The exact specifics of protrusion vs receiver Im gonna keep for myself, There is absolutely no coatings on any ports, combustion dome, ect. One of the best products out there is the Kiggly trigger plate, ZERO timing drift at 10000 rpm, with out it there used to be between 4-7deg, that calculates out to melted heads. Also my fuel system has a large roll as well, Im running FIC 2150's (8) to be exact, base is 70lbs no vac. currently on M1 meth and 52 psi were only 105% duty (divided by 2) After 10 psi boost we phase the second set and then it's 50/50. This how the car was set to run at the Shoot Out but to much other stupid crap got in my way to show off. I also need to reconfirm my trap speed vs rpm, I was way off in my guess, it's chilling right at 10,300. I'm going back out this weekend to try and claim the new 7sec bounty, first pass out I'm right where I left off at 55psi. I will not be spraying 1st or 2nd gear due to no traction anymore to the 1/8th. Drive is a big no no so who knows. Wish me luck and I'm hoping to report good things by Sunday.
