Big thanks to @IHeartMyHonda for pulling a full interior out of a car from the junkyard for me. Definitely saved me big time. I live 16 hours away and this interior is a tough one to find. The community on this forum is really outstanding! Thanks again guys.

My first DSM was a white/blue car. I've only ever seen 2 blue interiors in person. One was mine, and the other is the interior I just pulled from a junkyard for OP.

I discovered today that there are part numbers for blue Spyder interior pieces. So my goal is now to find a white 96 GST Spyder with blue leather.
That’s awesome. I was definitely planning on changing mine all to black or something but I’m keeping the blue now. Fun cars, wish you luck on your search that’d be cool

If you ever get tired of your white/blue car, let me know. Or if you ever get the itch to own a Spyder instead...

Well after about 8 months of pain here we are. New suspension all around. Coilovers, radiator, plugsand wires ,rebuilt turbo, and other basic maintenence. Redid some of the dash and trim and the headliner. Runs decent but idle sticks high sometimes. I'm almost positive it's the throttle cable from the pedal to the cruise control linkage but will know for sure in the next few days. My son did the majority of the work with my guidance. Not bad for a 16 year old who never really worked on a car before.

It's been a minute but I'm back. I had a load of garbage I had to go through but I got everything sorted through, so i hope. I ended up hurting myself and have been out of work so everything came to a stop. I got my gsx back and I've been slowly going through it. Biggest thing is I've been learning ecm link. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking there not all in order. So the talon that I swapped from 420a to 4g63 was used as the donor, but it's still a clean shell for a future project. There's still a few things I'd like to change under the hood but for now should be fine. Like all of my cars the paint job comes last. The mess in my garage has long been cleaned so try to ignore that part. I've been spending my time off just cleaning that's about all a guy can do now.

Its looking good! I've been in the same boat. Tore my acl riding dirtbikes with my kid but he just got the r34 front bumper with blitz side skirts and rear bumper. I prefer the 98 style but it's his car. Got everything taken off and gotta do some fiberglass and bondo to fill holes from old skirting. Then prime and paint. Then we will have to redo the dash as the first time around didn't work as well as we had hoped. It's definitely a learning experience. But hey he swapped out his own clutch after he smoked it trying to keep up with an AMG so there's still learning to be done when dad's down and out.

I just turned 30 and man everything hit me all at once. I definitely would like to see pictures if you have some. I ordered some aftermarket sideskirts and when I test fit them I for sure like the stock look so much better. I feel as I age I like a more stock looking 2gs way more.

Glad you’re feeling better man, nice job keeping things moving. Big props to you and everyone that fixes the strut towers! That was something that sent a lot of these things to coke can land. Glad to see that there is a chance for the ones that remain!

Thanks a ton! I don't think I can ever give up. The strut tower rust is quite easy compared to the rockers so I'd do them all day. This will be the 3rd one I've done and I'd be happy to do many more, whatever keeps them from getting scrapped.

Thank you! I'm still going at it just very slowly now. I couldn't figure out what car I wanted to do what to. I'm glad some of you still keep up to date on what I have going on. I know the gsx isn't as crazy as swapping the whole front clip on my talon. It's been fun though, I should have some more updates soon. I promise the paint job on this one is happening this winter. The rest of the car is solid and whatever rust it had I fixed.

So I have the car idling good on ecmlink but I can't seem to get wideband showings on ecmlink. I have a glowshift wideband and I can't really find info on it. So I'm kind of stumped on the next step. I'm real new with link so I've been trying to learn as much as I can.

Easiest way is to just add it as "Linear Wideband" and log the values. Record with your phone the wideband and the RPM/Tach, and match it up to the "LinWidebandRaw" voltages on the log. Basically, look up how to get the old AEM UEGO widebands to log with ECMLink properly, and just copy those walkthroughs. Gofer here on DSMTuners has a great video/thread on how to do it. There are probably no existing values that you can just plug in, so you'll have to do the legwork yourself. It's not hard or time consuming really, just takes more effort than say an Innovate LC2 which is just a drop down menu selection and done.

This however requires the glowshift wideband to have a 0-5v output wire. Which IDK if it actually does or not. If it doesn't, you may have to get creative.

Thanks for the reply! It does have a 0-5v wire that's green, I hook that up to the 5v wire on the ecu right? I've followed a couple steps on the ecm tuning website. I'm a total noob with all of this. When I get home tonight I'll monkey some more with it and hopefully I can figure something out. Again thank you for steering me in the right direction. I may have a bunch more questions so apologizing in advance for everything that's been said a thousand times over on here.

Yep. For a 2G you’ve got a couple options for inputs. Most popular is the OEM rear o2 pin or the egr pin.

Today I decided if I'm going to go through the trouble of learning ecmlink, I better have everything I want on the car. I installed my old school level 3 frank turbo. I'm trying to install as much older school parts on the car since I didn't get to experience that awesome time in life. I'm trying to keep it 2010 and earlier. Aside from that I did fix some broken off bolts that hold the fender on, I still have the drivers side to go. I cleaned up alot of things in the rear as well. I still have a long ways to go, and I'm probably not going to have this thing ready to tune until spring unfortunately.

I just received this in the mail I guess I should have ordered the coupler at the same time. I'm still running the maf so I wanted it stay looking as nice under the hood as I can.

I love the old school stuff. I went with that on a few things for the Talon. Something inherently gratifying and almost like closure about building the car younger you would've lusted after.

Looking forward to more of this. I enjoyed your old build too!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way! I've been trying to buy as much new old stock I can find. I'm hoping when I'm ready to tune I can hopefully bug you about it, sounds like your getting yours dialed which I'm pumped about. I still have my talon it just has no engine so I'll have to get back on that, I'm glad so many people followed it.

Same. I'm trying really hard to stick with that theme on my 1G and just doing modern stuff where it makes sense (like using ECMLink instead of a Super AFC).

I welded up a flange for an external wastegate tonight its not perfect but will do for now. I shaved some off the fan to fit it a little more comfortable. I'm just waiting on some intake stuff to fire this thing up again.

I'm finally getting around to hooking up my wideband to the ecu, but I really don't want to cut the wire, can a guy just shave some of the insulator and solder? The rear o2 is not plugged in and never will be. I just hate cutting perfectly good in tact wiring. I've dealt with hacked up wiring for years. I'm over chopping good stuff up. If I have to cut it is there a way around this?

If you don't want to cut the harness, just unpin the wire that you don't need. Then you can pin the wideband wire directly into the connector. You can do that by buying a new pin, or by stealing a section of wire and a pin from a donor harness.
