If you don't want to cut the harness, just unpin the wire that you don't need. Then you can pin the wideband wire directly into the connector. You can do that by buying a new pin, or by stealing a section of wire and a pin from a donor harness.

That's a great idea! I have a spare old harness from a rs I wonder if a pin from that is the same. I've just been sitting here thinking of ways to not harm any of the harness.

Nothing from a non turbo is the same but I found an old tcu harness from a gst and it worked great.

That's what AMS did to my Talon on a few of the pins at the ECU. They depinned them from the ECU's plug, heat-shrinked over the pin itself that was unused, then just clicked a new pin into its place. Super clean that way.

I'm happy about it for sure. I don't feel like I committed the world's greatest sin by cutting anything up. Next up is the hard part for me which is getting on the laptop.

So tonight I got all the intake stuff sorted out along with finally mounting the wastegate. I still have to make the dump tube but that will be for a different day. I made a bracket to hold the filter up. Someone tell me if that's a bad idea. I know on my talon the old filter would keep rubbing against the paint and it drove me nuts. It does still have some flex but won't sag and rub the paint off.

Today I received 1100cc injectors. I'm just not sure if I want to try and tune those or learn on the 550s I have in right now, because as of right now the car idles stupid perfect. I'd like to tune the car on wastegate pressure and the 550s to try and keep things on the safer and or easier side of this tuning magic.

I find myself sitting in the car and starting it up just for it to run great, but I still don't have a clue when I crack open the laptop, so then I shut it off and im back to just sitting there.

I'm going to see if I can't get this 97 gst cheap. I sold it to my wife's brother 7 years ago and it's sat in a field ever since. They recently moved so I towed it to my dads shop because everything had to go. The interior is completely destroyed from mice. It was driven for one summer and then developed a misfire so they parked it. Such a shame to be honest. I don't need anymore projects but this makes me sad. The last picture is when I owned it in 2017.

I'll spare a large rant and just say this instead: I hate people that hoard cars with zero intention of actually ever getting them running. Just too selfish to sell the car so it can be enjoyed. Rather let it rot in a field. Eats me alive. Similar story where there was a 2GA Talon TSI m/t in NC that just was rotting into the ground and the almost 85 year old obese man who owned it, refused to sell it claiming "I'm gonna build it one day". Like, you've got two bad knees and you're 350lbs. Unless that day is today, let me save it.

But yeah. Here's hoping! I would freakin' love a 2GB GST for a daily. I want two DSMs!

I 100 percent agree with you! I definitely don't need anymore personally, I just can't stand to see any of these cars go down like this. It went from absolutely mint to straight dumpster fire in the span of 7 years.

It could be worse but I'd say it's not terrible. Who knows what's behind the side skirts though. It has less rust than my gsx when I first got that, so that's a plus.

Hmm you think so? I just hate scraping rust away and then it turns into a big cancer hole. I did park it on rocks to keep it somewhat off of grass. I just have a feeling it's going to sit somewhere on grass again and mother nature is going to swallow it. It's a gut feeling, I know how the wife's family is.

I do. I don't really think it's anything to worry about. If I had the car I'd pop the caps off, wire wheel it, and recoat it in some rust converter/encapsulator/whateverTFit'scalled.

Hold up now you can tell what that said part is I won't tell anyone.

To be fair it does have a built motor, I'd give a max of maybe 4k tops.

I'm adding this to my build. I had a nice fairly cheap system in my car when i was in high school, so I bought all the same gear and put it in this car.The radio was missing but everything else was there so I bought every adapter I could to retain the factory wiring. I added an amp in the back for the speakers since the infinity amp was toast (I do still have it though).
I also wired all my gauges for ignition and constant to the radio so I didn't cut anything for those either. All in all the wiring in this car is 100 percent stock and untouched.
I'm trying to keep it as un molested as I can and as clean as I can.

I finally got the sideskirts mounted up. I have 2 bolts holding them up and they are nice and sturdy. I fiberglassed the front caps with the skirt so it's essentially just one big piece, since the holes were welded up on the rockers. I'm not real sure how I'll tackle the door caps, but I'd like to run them since there in great shape. I don't really want to re drill the holes someone welded up but that's the only way. Nothing is really bolted down tight, I just have everything mocked up for now.
