Just looking for a bit of input- the situation: 98 gsx, 255 wally, fpr, 850s, vrsf intercooler, mhi 20g td05h looking into camshafts and have been thinking about crowers stage 2 (272/272 if I recall) the cars going to be used mostly for auto cross and I was hoping for some opinions on cam combos that would be beneficial to spool that 20g a little sooner. I don't need much more top end just want the least turbo lag possible. Thanks everyone and merry Christmas!!

Your right.
Aren't GSC cams designed more for straight drop in without having to degree? I thought thats how companies were starting to design them.
.

Well I have heard a lot of good things about gsc cams and when I am asked about them I tend to pass on what I have heard with the statement "I have no experience with them but I haven't heard nothing but how satisfied people are with them". I like you also run bc272s and for the world of me can't really justify swapping them for a set of gsc, kelford , comp or any of the big name brand cams out there reason I am more than satisfied with my power band considering this is a street car!

Ive been considering the hks 264s or the gsc1. Is anybody running a reverse split duration set up? im curious about that too.

I tried to degree a set of gsc s2's and they were spot on even with a decked block and head. Also, tried adjusting them for power and didn't see much gains.

When on the engine stand i think its a good idea to degree cams anyways but it's more of a necessity for cheap cams in my opinion. I've heard some regrinds could be off by as much as 6-7*, imagine how long it would take you to find the sweet spot on the dyno with cams like that.

I can tell you right now take that car somewhere else and have it tuned immediately! To say that aset of cams, regardless who cam it is, will not benefit from camOMG tuning is amateurish and the person that was trying to dial them in is very fortunate they didn't cause major engine damage! ! Lol

I sense the sarcasm LOL

Well I'll definitely post my finidings when I finally pick cams to run with the 20g
Was going to say I'll through it on a dyno before and after but my local dyno is for 2wds bleh.
