As much I don't wanna ask cause I have a feeling I'm gonna get bad news but this is my problem.

I went to store other day, came back out car was not running anymore. Started right back up fine. Well today I pulled in to the store with foot on clutch i was sitting still an it shuts off. Again started right back up no problem. Well on way home on back road i got on it little and well it shut off an made like a rattle sound.

Pulled off on side of road went to start back up an it just clicked, well turn off radio and it started back up. (Reason I turn radio off is I just installed a stereo system though it was to much on alternator).

After getting it back to house started looking under for any could see any problems, well I reved it up some. Then at little hi Rev I could hear rattle sound an didn't sound to good.

The car has had a tick an was told it was lifter tick. The oil pressure runs 10 -15 psi idle 40 or so driving. Guy got it from said oil pressure was ok for its age an he ran 15w 20 oil.

It's a 95 eagle talon tsi

How exactly are u to measure it I'm under car now

See post #31

I would also remove the lower timing cover to see if you find any visual evidence of excessive play.

If you have a crank thrust problem I doubt you will even have to measure it just push it back and forth. If you have a problem and it's visible then you've likely already exceeded the amount by at least 10 times. even a sixteenth of an inch is nearly 10 times the standard value.
