ok guys here's the deal i got a 90 tsi awd and it ramdomly keeps dying. it dies at idle and light driving sometimes but does this more in the rain. the motor is built and im running v3 full with density and over the winter we replaced every gasket, replaced all vacuum lines, got the buffer board to the ecu cleaned, all new caps in the ecu, new alternator, new optima battery, new coilpack, new plugs, new wires, new cas and every sensor got replaced.

okay heres whats going on, ill be driving lightly and the car will act like my foot came off the gas when in actuality it is still on it. fuel pressure stays at 3.0 bar, oil pressure stays at 6.0 bar, a/f ratio is around 14 and voltage stays in the high 13's. now ive had the fuel pump wiring checked and its okay, added more grounds to the battery, and have gone over every fuse, vacuum line, and it is all good and secure.

the only bad thing would be the pigtail to the alternator which some wires are exposed and i have a new pigtail but just havent had the time to get to it. im not sure if that would cause it but when i took it out for a spin tonight, it made a very very faint high pitch noise like it had a vacuum leak.

so i have come to the conclusion it might be the alt pigtail (very unlikely) or the intake mani gasket which it is one of the plastic magnus heat barrier ones or something with the tb gasket (very likely). does anyone have any helpful thoughts as to what this could be?...i believe im on the right track LOL :hmm:

I would be willing to bet it's the alternator wiring, because i had the same problem with losing power randomly while driving and it was because i had a split in my alternator wiring so it wasn't getting enough back to the battery. I redid the wires and haven't had it do that again. Hope that helps
