Hello everybody, hoping for some help here as I can't figure out my problem

I have a 1991 Eagle talon TSi. A while back I had it running decently aside from an engine misfire from running regular fuel. Boosted no problem

Me and my dad have been doing some work trying to get it daily drivable before winter hits here in Alberta. We had it up on ramps, and among some basic other things, we pulled the air cleaner and cleaned it.

We had a hell of a time trying to start it, it would turn over but never catch. Turned out to be spark plugs. Replaced those. Now the car will start and revv no problem, but the moment my aftermarket boost gauge goes from vacuum to boost, the car starts to sputter and puke black smoke, won't make any boost, and dies out until you let off the gas. I didn't want to push it to hard but I was able to make maybe 1-3inhg of boost while it was cutting.

The car is undrivable like this unfortunately. I've done a boost Leak test, and after fixing my cracked PVC hose, the only thing I can see is my blow off valve releasing all the pressure, which I'm not sure if I'd be able to service it. Wastegate seems to move just fine, and actuator pushes when out of the car.

If anybody can help me out or point me in any sort of direction it would be highly appreciated

How much pressure are you using for your boost leak test? Stock piping on the Car? I would run a stock BOV for now to make sure you have a good starting point then modify from there.

Did you hook the MAF back up?

My system isn't holding any pressure for my car. It all seems to be letting out at my BOV. If I can find a cheap one before it snows I'll replace it. If not I'm going to have to park the car for the winter and tackle it next summer.

MAF is plugged in properly, it idles like shit when I unplug, and idles fine when I plug it back in

Is the bov recirculating? Where is the pressure source tapped? Show us.

Turned out to be a bad BOV. Was letting all the air out of the intake and also vacuum line from the manifold. Engine thought it was getting pressure, so tried to match it with fuel but was just overfueling the engine till it died

Ordered a cheap shitty BOV until I can afford a decent one

So scratch my last post. BOV was absolutely bad and causing huge problems, replaced now. Ive done a boost leak test in a few spots, Turbo inlet and straight to the IM and everything was good. Car is now making boost no problem at all.

Symptoms I'm still having -
Car has a small misfire at idle
Check engine light stays on - Check connector constantly reads code 31 - Detonation sensor
In park, giving it throttle slowly it starts to cut and misfire at higher RPMs, Giving it hard throttle, it will completely cut out and stall if i don't let off
Black smoke out the tailpipe like a diesel - It's ridiculous
When trying to drive the car, it absolutely will not make any power at all. It bogs out so bad and runs so rich it cant drive much faster than idle speed

So here's some information on my fuel system -
To get this car running originally i replaced the fuel pump with a walbro and rewired the fuel pump with a relay and 10ga wire. I've learned recently the car supposedly has larger injectors in it, so i think maybe the pump + larger injectors are giving it way too much fuel. I do not have DSMLink, stock 1g computer (board is clean, almost new. Inspected myself). It has a "Venom 400" performance computer in it, which is supposedly to trick the computer into thinking the Airflow sensor is getting much less air than it is? I'm not sure what will happen if i remove it and return to stock wiring.

We pinched the fuel line from the filter with some vice grips, and cut the pressure to right before it would stall, and car seemed to rev up great in park, unfortunately didn't get a chance to try to drive it

I really don't know much about the history of the molestion of this car unfortunately. I could try to get some pictures if that would help. Any information/help/ideas is greatly appreciated
