I got 1990 Eclipse. And i want to do some nice sound system job in my trunk.Like subs, amps speakers, capacitor and all wires.
If you guys done that before, please give me some advises how to do it better way.
thanks.BTW Pictures wiil be grate :dsm: :thumb:

ditto. I got a 97 convertable eclipse. so my trunk is somewhat useless as it is. but I was wondering if anyone put the subs in the back seats. I've sat in them once and swore to never stick anyone back there again. the seats aren't even 90 degrees. you practically sit in a fetal position. OMG

Well, to be honest I"m a rookie in every sense of the word. I know a lot about nothing. None of which involves cars. I'm totally shallow. I was hoping for two 10" subs, and sticking the amp that's powerful enough to bump it in between them. I can't see how the subs would be able to go on the upper part of the back seat, the inclined part; but I was wondering if anyone pulled it off by putting it on the seated part (where your ass sits) I've got two jl's, but they're just the entry level, so I'd like to upgrade them. I was looking to spend about $2500ish on the subs/amp/install alone.

And thank you for the website links.

Here are a few ideas from fellow DSMers on this website who have convertables:

If the link doesn't work do a search for "99 spyder subwoofer ideas", you'll find the thread.

good god. you really gotta give it up to some of these dudes. there was one fella that took his back seats out and put in a massive box and concealed it with f/g. unfortunately for me I'm not competent in anyway to be touching fiberglass. and there's not too many people in town that can do that. again, thank you for the websites and now I think I'll go trade my car in for a hard-top LOL! OMG

Trade it for a hard-top... ROFL Fiberglassing is custom work, but if all you want is some bass just get to subs and put them in a sealed box, it'll do the same thing. If you want to try to get into car shows or be unique, go the fiberglassing thing. You might have to travel a bit to find someone who has done some fiberglassing if you can't find anyone in your area. I've personally re-built a cracked fiberglass hood and it's not that hard to work with it.

so back to the ORIGINAL question, and not about convertibles... check my website for pic of my install in a 1G, non convertible.. as originally asked in this thread.

there are LOTS of sweet 1g installs on this site. hopefully some people will start posting them.

as for finding a good setup for you, check a local audio shop, and tell them what your looking for. hopefully they can help you out with picking out the correct equipment, and getting you all the wires etc that you need
