Hey everyone just looking for some thoughts on what I should do, i didnt know which thread this should be posted in sorry, I have 2 1995 eagle talon tsi's, Talon #1(black)- needs a motor, 184 000km(kilometers) rust free, pretty base model interior wise such as cloth seats and also no lsd, Talon #2(white)- Great running motor, completely loaded car with leather, sunroof, lsd etc. 164 000km(kilometers) But not plateable due to frame rust, and also strut tower rust. would it seem more logical to take the motor out of #2 and put it into #1 or chop up #1s frame to patch up #2

Always easier to change motors. Anything that bolts to the car can be unbolted and moved. A motivated mechanic can swap a motor in a day. A skilled body work guy cant fix rust that easily or cheaply.

It honestly depends on how bad the rust is, coming from a paint and body background. You can get the rust removed and have the frame powder coated. They sell rust removal agents and automotive paint stores, I'm sure AutoZone will sell something similar also.

Being the way I am, I would just fix and keep them both. But I guess since you're asking that's not an option. I do think some pictures of how bad the rust actually is would help.

The frame is litterally full of rust holes and the strut towers look like they've already been bondoed

It's a no-go on that car. I wouldn't want the frame to collapse, and also wouldn't want to see the price for fixing it (assuming it's even repairable).

Sounds like everything short of the sunroof could be moved to the solid car. That's how I would go.

I would swap the motor over and if you can save the other frame work on it little by little.
