I hope i posted this in the correct section. I have a 90 talon awd that i have had for 9 years. Well last year after a 170000 it broke a ring. So im going to put some money into the car to make is a good dd. Just so you know i plan on 2500 or so to put in the car. I have been around these cars for over ten years so im no stanger to them. I have already done a lot of work. Some of this includes new rack & pinion all new suspension bushings, fuel pump and 2g calipers rebuilt and a 16 turbo the list goes on.
I plan on putting 2g pistons in with stock rods and valve train and arp head studs and a mild porting on the head. The goal is to run 12 to 14 psi and know that i can drive any where without issues. I plan on a radiator and intercooler plumbing and exhaust. I plan on rebuilding the tranny and lighting the stock flywheel and i have a act clutch. My big question is how and what to tune it with. I have a GM maft so i could go a tranlator and wideband. Would that be a good enough way to tune? Or i have thought about dsm link but which one to go with. I like dsm link because i can go speed densty and run some GM sensors which are cheaper and easier to buy. I know dsm link would give a better tune and a reliable car but do i need to go that route since im not looking for alot of power? Im looking to make around 250hp. Please give any input into my setup. I think this can be done with the right setup.

Thanks. I wana know on link which one to go with and can i run a gm throttle body and run gm tps with link? I plan on building a intake manifold so i can use any flange for any tb. I just like the more gm sensors i can run the better for cost and availability. With link do i need a wideband? Thanks for the info.

The stock intake manifold is overkill for your goals. People have made 600hp on the stock mani.

For 250hp just buy a mbc and turn the boost up to about 15psi and you will have reached your goal. Which you can do with everything else being stock.

Yes you will need a wideband for any kind of tuning.

I'd add in Link and a wideband if you can fit it in your budget. Otherwise, maybe just a wideband, MBC, and logger.

I plan on a wideband i just didnt know if there was one built into dsm link. I thought the v3 would be fine for what i want.
Im not for sure what tuner pro is but i will do some research on it. Thanks.

ECM link. Easy and cheap and can be expanded with. 250hp will seem slow after awhile and youll want more. And really thats not even working the motor. Most tuners will tune to 20psi with stock blocks, why because these motors with supporting mods can handle 300-350hp as a d.d. for years and years.
