Well unfortunately Santa gave me a late Christmas present with a fuel leak. This is not my dsm this is my dd 95 Honda Accord (112,000 miles so a lot of life left).

I was not fortunate enough for it to be a fuel line. I have a small leak from the filler neck and a small one at the seam of the gas tank. So I cannot fill it up past half. I had brought my car to be aligned which is also a repair shop, so I'm taking the guys word for it on where its leaking. They quoted me around $500 to fix it, which is outrageous. I've dropped a few in my day and its no $500 job.

Well, what kind of quick fix remedies does everyone half for these. The only thing I can think of is JB weld. I would drop the tank and fix everything like need be. But I do live in Buffalo and its cold nor do I have a heated garage. I don't even want to imagine how rusty the bolts are under there too.

So any suggestion to get me through the winter season would be awesome.

There is an epoxy puddy type stick that you can get at most auto stores that is made specifically for gas takes. I forget what its called but you should be able to find it in the gasket sealer section. (I worked for advance auto all through college)

I would find something more appropriate for fuel leaks than JB Weld. It is good stuff, but I wouldn't rely on it for that. If you could get it from the inside it would work but I dunno if you can. Otherwise, wouldn't a junkyard have a tank that you could grab?

Yea, I will end up replacing it all together, neck and all when the warm weather hits. I just want to make it through the winter without leaking out gallons when I fill up. I can manage to not go past half.

I will have to look for that epoxy stuff today. There is an advance auto on my way home from work. I have the next couple days off from the office for new years.

I would hate to drive my eclipse through all the New York salt, even if it did run. LOL
