I had my 4g63 engine rebuilt and the mechanic had to leave the area due to family and work issues, since then I have lost contact with him.

We had the engine installed and everything connected. I have ECMLink and laptop connected to the car, I went to start and no spark, can smell the gas just no spark. I looked at error code and it says no Cam Angle sensor. We had deleted the sensor and the mechanic told me i had to go into ECMLink and to change it in the parameters for the car to realize it no longer has a sensor and will fire. But since we no longer can talk I cannot figure out how to do this on my 99 GSX.

Does anyone know how to do this process so I can get my 1999 GSX Eclipse up an running please any help will be appreciated I will do my best to repay any help.

Thank you DSM Family.

Deleted the cam sensor? You can't do that. Elaborate please. If you had a different engine installed and changed things, explain please.

Did you make any progress over the past 5 years?

After I got no help from anyone that I thought could help. I reached out to a few shops and they said unless they built it they wouldn't help get it running. I even tried Boostin performance to help and said same. So I took it to a shop a friend had and he's had it in shop for past year storing it. I took a new job which required me to travel. So I put it on back burner. But now I have some time and money I want my investment on the road. I can take pictures and show what's been done. Would love to just talk to someone who's got knowledge and I would be better to explain. But I know that's hard to come by. I will take pix and post what I'm taking about. And they mechanic who helped me told me he deleted his cam sensor but the guy who helped him did something in ecm tuner.

Post pics and please provide more info. I pointed out you can't delete a cam sensor. So what was actually done if you know? You have to have either a cam and crank sensor on a 2g or if you've converted it will be a 1g style cam sensor only. What is the current setup?

You also have ecmlink, post a starting log. I assume the car ran before you pulled the motor?

I'll post pics once I get them. It's the sensor on top of engine where the cams sit. It has a block off plate installed now. And I didn't have any logs before the engine was pulled I acquired it after in preparation for the new setup. It got upgraded to a 2.3 stroker from an original 4G63. Is what the guy I was working with changed it all too. Again me and him had a falling out after all this went down. He didn't return alot of important documents or said they got lost or damaged in move. So I'm trying to piece it together. Plus been a long time so trying to remember everything said at that time. Little leniency.

It could be the 2gb cam sensor was replaced with the 95-96 style by the timing belt. If that's the case, the cam sensor wasn't deleted, it was moved. That would mean the wiring for the signal would have to be changed (inverted).
