I have been trying to get my car ready to make the switch to SD, but i am confused on some unclear items. First off, I bought Ceddy's full package with Bigmaps and SD bigmaps. What ROM needs to be flashed onto the car to log the aircounts with the logger and MAP sensor (omni 4 bar) wired in? Do I use the regular/bigmaps rom or bigmaps Speed Density rom, and, if I do use the SD ROM, what items need to be checked and unchecked on the setup bits? :hmm:

Thanks for the help.

Just curious if you ever found out? Im going to be attempting SD in the spring.

Why not go with jackal or werewolf sd programs? Jackal is 20.00 I think and werewolf is around 200 IIRC. Go to ds-map.com and check it out. Curtis has done great things with those programs and they are easy to learn and set up. I did my sd conversion for around 275.00....200.00 for the ostrich box, 20.00 for jackal, 30.00 for the map sensor, 5.00 iat sensor(junkyard) and the rest on wire, ecu socket, and misc stuff. Had it up and running in 1 day.
This is for a 1 g system only.

If he's using Ceddy's ROMS he most likely has a 2Gb. Putting a 2G ECU in a 1G is too much bother just to run a 98-99 ECU, especially when ECMLink offers so much more. I don't have experience with Jackal or Werewolf, but I'm sure they're also a better option than swapping a flashable 2Gb ECU in a 1G.

your a step further then me but the SD rom you bought is the one you want to flash.

you probably read this right? if your using a GM 3 bar map you can skip the omni sensor stuff. "By default the VE maps are set up to use a GM 3-BAR." just remember to keep your maf hooked up and drive around. if the tables match up you should be good.

You don't flash the SD ROM on until the VE table is completely built. You need to wire in the MAP, log with the MAF in place and working, with the MAF ROM and the SD calcs turned on. Once you have enough info to properly build the VE table, then you wire in the IAT and flash the SD ROM with the built table into the ECU.
