Tonight after school I'll post a pic of the arms on the tranny, and the gear shifter itself.

my_precious said:I was told that the 1990 tranny had is own unique shifter cables, base and shifter mechanism. I am having problems shifting too in my car with a stock tranny. The previous owner swapped one from another car with 80k on the tranny. thing is, i have a 1990 so good chance is that the tranny is from another car. Now i need to figure out what year the tranny is and so on. If it turns out to be the same year as your car, maybe we can swap shift linkage?

Here are some pics that show my gearshift seal issue. I really just want to know if I need to keep this transmission open to fix/replace this seal.

Has anyone fixed/replaced this seal?

That is because you only changed one of two brackets on the tranny.GoldÐiamond said:I switched everything possible - including cables just to be safe.

nightspeed87, if you're able to change both brackets on the tranny, you don't need to change anything else. However if you're unable to remove the roll pin that holds the main shifter bracket to the shifter rod (Not an easy task), you will need to swap everything before the tranny brackets to the shifter itself.
