2G need help now.. removal of camshaft position sensor.

alright here is the story... i scanned my car. code P0340 which is camshaft position sensor and so i was looking at the sensor and i was curiou how i could remove it to put a new one in but i dont know what to do... it looks like i am going to have to take of the intake camgear but then i have to redo my timing and then i was reading about how the mark on the exhaust gear has to be a tooth away from top dead center.. can someone please help. thanks

as a rule of thumb go off of the timing gears and tdc, but if you want to cheat a little bit you could always mark where your timing is currently then go off of it.

yeah, well thats what i was going to do.. but if i take off the belt so can take off the intake gear, wont it move still?

The intake wont but the exhaust will
