I was in a accident back a month ago... the car was totaled and I bought it back... The frame was bent and has now been straightened....Heres what I know.... One cam gear is broke and the timing belt is off... power steering pump etc is done... I also know I want to eventually run a evo III 16g on my car.. 7 bolts are prone to crankwalk { I notced the normal thought is don't even worry about it}
What I don't know... If the head to my engine is shot.. All the parts I would need to fix.
Advice part....
I've talked to a guy from here he suggested getting a 6 bolt and having it rebuilt and {in this process the guy would make sure the engine has what it takes to handle a evoIII and not encounter other problems.} put it in...
The other option would be to fix the engine I now have a risk that other things are wrong or future issues.
My goal is that I just want to drive the spyder over the summer. And next year put the evoIII on along with the FMIC,exhaust, fuel management etc...At the same time I don't want to spend like 1500 this summer and then need to buy another engine next year for 3000.
Would it be smart to buy the 6 bolt and drop it in normal?
Fix the engine I have?
Buy the 6 bolt and have it rebuilt?
Buy an engine thats already built up for my cause?
thanks ahead of time
Tom
