Hello. i just bought a 95 gst and its have a weird heating problem. im sure i figured it out but i want to get some more input on it. what its doing is when im crusing without boosting its fine but when i boost alittle or alot it starts heating up. weird thing is if i turn the car off or turn it off while driving and pop start it the temp goes back down to normal every time and doesnt go up until i boost. after looking at everything it seems like the drivers side fan (ac fan i believe) does not turn on when it gets hot or when the ac is on so im thinking only 1 side of the radiator is getting cooled and when i turn the car off the cool and hot water mix thus taking the temp back down to normal. does this sound correct?

Fan doesn't come on?---> Check your fuses.

Fan comes on, still hot ----> Replace your thermostat.

Fan is fine, thermostat is fine, still hot ----> check your coolant for bubbling ----> if yes: Blown headgasket

FMIC ----> trim bumper for more flow to radiator.

Good luck!

fuses good, still have to check thermo, no bubbling in the system, 4 layer metal headgasket. im also thinking the radiator may be stopped up alittle so im going to flush it and try to get that fan to work.

so i checked everything out. there was no thermostat in the car. it was in the trunk so i tested it and put it in. now the temp gague will go up to just under 3/4 of the way up and stays there while driving and does not go any higher. when i let off the gas it goes back down to normal. i also noticed that if i drive at a higher rpm like 3k-4k it cools down alittle bit. bad thermostat with restrictive flow??
