need advice

I recently bought a 90 laser turbo. I have owned several dsms in the past and enjoy working on them but i still consider myself a newbie. The talons i owned were basically built when i bought them and my galant vr4 was built by a shop because i had money back then. But i may have gotten in over my head with this project. I am on a very tight budget. The laser had been sitting for 2 years before i got it. Obviously it doesnt run but the person i bought it from told me it ran fine before they parked it it is a one owner and has 98000 miles on it. It is bone stock. That is what i know about the car,my question is where do i get started on getting this thing to run. Im not looking at speed right now just want it to run. I know i probably look like an idiot to everyone but its the only dsm i could afford . I inly payed 400 for it. I jusy dont know where to start. Thank you, and im doing this to.learn so any suggestions would help.

Congrats man, $400 sounds like a steal. Well since you had dsm's before, I am assuming you already have a service manual or some sort of Haynes manual. If not definitely get one.

If I were you, I would go over all the normal maintenance , change all your fluids in car, check all of your wiring since its been sitting for a while, check everything that's rubber like seals and hoses. Mice like to chew on them also. And do a tune up

Check for spark, fuel, and compression. Those Are the bare basics for engine operation. Start with those and see where you stand.

Obviously, change fluids first. Have you tried turning her over. If so, what is she doing? I'm sure you'll need a new battery.

It defiantly needs a new battery. Im getting one monday. I put a jump pack on it. It turns over but doesnt start. I did notice that mice had fun with a lot of wires but im good in the wiring department. I had a manual back when i owned my galant but i was in the military then and it has been lost but i will pick one of those up monday as well. I just want to point out that im using this on my phone so.sorry it looks like a 5 year old typed this. I wasnt sure if i got a good deal or not. But its good to know that maybe i did. Thanks for all the tips. I have only had the car 2 days i will.probably keep asking stupid questions as i do more. Lol.
