I have a 98 gsx mostly stock except for a few mods like a 3inch catback, fmic and 1g bov. I am planning to rebuild the motor over the winter. I need a little help and advice before i go and blow all my money on this build! I want my gsx to be somewhere in the high 10's or low 11's. If some one can tell me what would be a good set up for this, i would greatly appreciate it! this is my first motor build. Here are some of the things i was deciding upon...

- should i keep it 2 liter get new rods, pistons, crank ect... or go with a 2.3 liter stroker kit from slowboyracing.

- also what would be the best compression ratios for the perticular setup i want?

- what kind of turbo set up should i get????

- will the tranny hold together if i just upgraded the clutch to a act2600?

- what mods do i need to do to the head, what cam set up?

-what size injectors and fuel pump?

- do i keep the stock intake manifold?

- what else do i need to upgrade?

I forgot to metion i want to tune all this with a dsmlink..

Thanks for the help!

Might want to look into some drag radials and suspension/braking upgrades.

You need to do a lot of research. No one person can tell what parts you should get, or the best turbo setup, etc. There are many different ways to get your car to run 10s; first you need to get it to run 12s.

I'm not trying to be smart, it's just i've seen many a DSM run close to the same times at the track, but have completly different setup's. If your asking such broad questions at this point, you may not be ready to start building the car at this level.

Well put.
