Hi everyone!

I just purchased my first GSX project. I am a heavy honda acura guy. And VW as well. One of the first things, I'm thinking of doing is the 5-speed conversion of course. My question was.. What is the differences in spline?? And I'm guess that it's teeth on something?

Thank guys!!! :thumb:

90-96 transfer case is 22 spline and 97-99 has 23 spline transfer case. Im assuming you have an auto wanting to convert it into stick?

22 splines came on 1990's and I believe some of 1991 cars. Everything after that was 23 splines. Although if you have a 1990 or 1991 tranny you can switch the output shaft to a 23 spline output shaft. The biggest thing is to make sure of the splines so you get the right transfter case.

Thanks guys. so I should get a 22 spline tranny and transfer case because its a 95? How about the rear end????

Wait. according to that thread snowborder posted. I should get a 23 spline.

Ok, so I have a 97 tsi awd and need a transfer case. The door says it was made in July of 96. Do I need a 97-99 transfer case or do I need the one for 92-96?
