I've read on here somewhere that I could get a gasket set to install a big 16g turbo from NAPA. When calling NAPA though they can only find one for a 14b and t25.

I am gunna redo my gaskets becausr i now have an evo exhaust manifold, 7cm turbo housing and ported 02 housing but cant find the gaskets anywhere or the thread I saw pointing me in the direction to NAPA!

No, it is a 7cm housing.

I know this because I bought it solely because it was a 7cm housing. Its much larger then my 14b, which has the 6cm housing.

So the 6cm housing has the same gasket as the 7cm?

This is what you want, my friend. I have this set and they are of the highest quality, and after having them, I would never consider using anything else!!! The sealability of these is incredible! Scroll down the page and find "Power Pak 3, it comes with all the gaskets. FFWD Connection - Race Injuns That Will Freeze Your Brain

And no, the 7cm and 6cm gaskets are different, the 7cm turbine housing and the Evo exhaust manifold have much larger collecter holes.

Nobody but Mitsubishi sells the proper turbine housing inlet gasket to install a 16G on DSM. Why? A 16G was never supposed to be on a DSM.

The only way you could buy the proper set is if it were made for an Evo III, a car which was never available in the U.S.- so obviously parts stores in the U.S. are not going to offer gasket sets for cars that were never sold in the U.S.

The misinformation in this thread needs to cease- a Big 16G does NOT have a 6cm housing unless someone put it there, and a 14B turbine housing inlet gasket is NOT going to work with a 16G.

Thank god someone who knows what they are talking about. I thought everything I had learned about dsms was wrong! I knew big 16g's always came with 7cm housings not 6 and I knew they werent the same gaskets either.

don't put a 6cm inlet gasket on a turbo that requires a 7cm. Tears yo s### up. Someone that owned my car before did this and i got to see the damage(thankfully none to my turbine wheel and just the gasket itself :hellyeah:). Not pretty.

Just buy the felpro set, it comes with 4 gaskets for the oil return (2 obviously meant for the t-25 return, 2 meant for the 14b/16g/20g style return. 3 Different hotside to manifold gaskets, and 2 different o2 housing gaskets.

The only thing it lakes is crush washers.

I've used several different gaskets over the years and the best one, IMO, is the factory MLS gasket.

The copper gaskets have a reputation of sealing great initially but blowing out after a short time.

The aftermarket stainless steel (cut out of a sheet) gaskets tend to deform and grab a hold of your turbo bolts thereby stripping the threads when you try to remove them.

The parts store's high temp composite gaskets that can supposedly take the heat simply don't hold up to the heat for very long at all.

If you haven't ported the step at the EM collector and the turbine inlet then I recommend using the factory sealing ring along with the MLS gasket to make it even more bullet proof. Just make sure you specify that you need the gasket for the 7cm housing.

RRE sells both the gasket and sealing ring. Scroll down to the EVO3 section. Again, don't get the solid, one piece SS gasket.

FP also sells the gasket.

Even though I recommended the oem gasket, there is one other option that has been working great for me which is a Remflex gasket. They are rarely used in the DSM world (probably because of cost and availability). The key to making it work is to follow Remflex's install instructions exactly, mainly with regards to how much to torque the bolts.
