N/T... knock sensor...

I pulled an awd motor for my esi. everything works (minus tranny problems) but the knock sensor isnt hooked up and i dont have a hoookup for the sensor. (i'm using the N/T harness and ecu) it boosts fine up til about 5k. it doesnt hit there very often but if i'm running the car, i'd like to be able to rev to at least 6500 before shift. with detonation... its a little hard to go past 5k. can somebody help me. tell my ignorant butt what to do?

Swap the turbo engine harness and ecu in along with alot of other things, maf/cluster all the stuff

I've got two awd harnesses but the plugs for the awd tranny is different. the car is auto and its hard to find an auto turbo harness. i've got the ecu out of the awd i pulled the motor out of. any suggestions of how i could use the awd harness? or where i could find a bypass for the knock sensor?

So the old turbo car was manual and your using the nt auto tranny? im confused

both cars are auto. there is a difference in the fwd tranny plugs and the awd tranny plugs.

Yea that sounds like it could be a problem. Since the auto's have a computer of there own. Good luck you need a different engine wiring harness

If i remember correctly from the swap i did, you can swap the harness for the trans itself, but you have to cut the tape from the loom and seperate the wires then tape it back together. I would check to make sure of this with the harness you already have out. But like i say, it has been about 4 yrs, and i dont remember for sure cause i had to build my own harness out of 3. and i still never got the cruise to work.

so after that my knock should work? thats what i'm worried about. the tranny was trash to begin with but besides that there is no problem with that. i'm just lookin for an easy way to hook up a knock sensor... i guess thats not possible so i'll probably have to pull another frankenstien job. if there is anybody else with other ideas keep them coming thanks guys
