Hey, this was pretty much the basis for the selling my dsm post and getting a honduh and the piece of crap is still sitting and no idea whats wrong.
What it does it clicks, it sounds like its coming from the tranny and is a constant tick but when the clutch is in it pretty much stops, i can still hearit but its really low then when I drive it ticks and in 2nd its so loud u can hear it 2 cars back so the last time i drove it i had to skip 2nd all the way home. Anyone have any idea? I'm pretty sure someone said crankwalk is the opposite, someone said it could be my throwout bearing but why would it click so hard in 2nd? I called a tranny shop and they told me my guess would be as good as theirs so they were useless and i'm not paying 2000 for them to fix it. Also i have a 2600 act clutch just over a year old same as my tranny, i had it rebuild and had a new lsd put in so i'm lost..anyone have any clue what it might be? clutch, tranny? flywheel maybe? Any help would be great! Thanks

Does it matter if you are accelerating? also, saying your dsm is a piece of crap and you are going to go buy a honda (or honduh) may not be the way to get the best response on a dsm specific board.. just a heads up.

Pull the end cover off your transmission and have a look at the shafts. I bet you have some bearing wear (typical for high mileage DSM transmissions).

It ticks when i'm moving and when i'm not, its louder when the car is in gear though especially in 2nd. ...You should read that post in the General/newbie forum. I got great feedback as to why i should keep it. Which I am! I should have explained that part of the post more.

min did this.. turns out i had broken off a tooth on 2nd gear.. it ticked LOUD, but if you only broke off part of a gear it may only tick a little.. . but it did exactly what your describing.

I was thinking that might be it but i just dismissed it. ...any idea how it happned on your car?

yeah i broke 2 teeth off my 2nd gear, and it ticked like crazy! luckily the teeth didn't get caught in any other parts, mine wasn;t frome wheel hop, it was from a hard 1st to 2nd shift, i heard it happen! gear cost me $80 and the rebuild cost about a G! sucked, then a month later i lost my 3rd and 4th gears, had it rebuilt yet again, with 1g 3rd and 4th, another G, and then i sold the FWD! now i have a AWD :)
