I have a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse gst, my goal is to get no more than 300 hp, already have intake and turbo manifold, what turbo would you recomend to optain 300hp, brand new t25? please leave your answers in detail and be spacific.

I don't think you'll see it on a T-25.

I would upgrade the fuel system, the intercooler, and the turbocharger. Something like this:

Walbro 255hp
550 or 650cc inj.
Evo3 Big 16g
FMIC
Exhaust

Then you should really look at an adjustable AFPR (like the aeromotive -6an one, or the full bolt on Buschur unit). Naturally you'll need a logger, and some type of tuning tool, like an SAFC-1/2 or MAFT to get good results.

There are a lot of ways to reach 300hp though, and it shouldn't be too difficult. You can search through the archives here, and look at what other people have done. Also, many people have dyno info in their profiles, and you can look at their mod lists for more ideas.

hope that helps. :dsm:

Edit: I didn't notice that you are in california. I don't know how much you can get away with. Definitely get a high flow cat with your exhaust, and try to stay as stock looking as possible to avoid hassles. People in california can probably add more useful information there.

1) Instead of the Evo3 Big 16G turbo, you could send your T25 to Forced Performance and have it upgraded to the FP Big T28 for $599 and it is a direct bolt on.

2) I don't see why you need a 255 fuel pump and then spend money on an AFPR. Get a 190 pump and call it a day.

3) www.extremeintercoolers.com sell FMIC kits for about $800. You could go with a bigger sidemount instead of the FMIC depending on how much boost you plan to be running.

Everything on Stage 1 on the Upgrade path will put you around 300 HP.

You are probably right. I would go to the 16g, simply because once you do the swap, moving to other bigger turbo's is a lot easier. The same situation with fuel, though again, if you're sure you won't get bitten with the upgrade bug, 190 w/ stock FPR is more than enough.

on the intercooling side of things, if you want to go front mount, I really like the Kinetic kits, as they're well put together. Several vendors sell them (SBR sells it under the SBR name, for instance) and it's in the $850 range, IIRC. For a SMIC, the MKIV supra sidemount does pretty well up to about 17-18lbs on a 16g, in my experience.

I guess I kind of replied with less of a "300whp" goal, and more of a "300whp, with supporting mods for more" type of outlook. It's never enough power, or at least that's how i've felt- seem to always need more.
