i thought this would make my eclipse sound bad ass but it didnt.
so ### i did is i took my eclipse to a muffler shop told them to put 2.5in tubing from the cat to the a magnaflow muffler and it sounds the same? a little bit different but quiet

someone should i have bought a hks or N1, megan full exhaust?
im sort of a noob to this
had the car for about 6 months

the reason it doesn't sound good is because it's a magnaflow. the 2.5 piping has nothing to do with it. If you want it to sound good get an N1 or another similar straight through muffler.

Should have gotten a rougher sounding exhaust. Magnaflows sells good exhausts but are known to be quiet.
Get an hks or a megan racing muffler and weld it on to your existing piping and report back afterwards.

### if i just get one of those ebay muffler that are like 50 buks and switch it out for the magnaflow would that help?

i'm not too sure how strict cops are over in texas but in cali they bust you for having a spoiler (not really just kidding, calm down)! just cut the muffler off heheh :hellyeah:

P.S i used to run a 5.0 mustang with no mufflers and never once got pulled over for it, I currently have a fix it ticket for my exhaust on my dsm now...how 'bout that??

If you cut off the muffler it will sound louder for sure but your performance will hurt just a bit up top.

thats a really hard question to answer. will it be louder most likely. will it sound better that is truly up to the individual. I personally have a dejon turbo back 3 inch with the magna flow dual tip and I just recently put a resonator in it and I love the way it sounds.

I would keep the magnaflow and replace the cat with a resonater, or you could delete it altogather, it might trip a cel though. Either way will make it louder,But why do you want to be like everyone else. I hate honda fart cans on dsms, or anything for that matter. Its your call, but I wouldn't do straight through.....

I had a no-name canister type muffler on my old Eclipse and it produced a nice, smooth, deep tone. Every turbo DSM I've ever heard with the canister type muffler sounded nice and deep.

Magnaflows are super quiet but flow well since they are a straight through design. I put 2 magnaflow mufflers on my 4.6 V8 Ford and they were quiet like stock. At first, I thought the muffler shop cheated me or something. I didn't want my car to be too loud but if I knew they were going to be that quiet, I would've went with flowmaster's or kept my stock mufflers on the car. After a few months, the magnaflows did get a little louder since the packing started loosening up.

i want to keep my car legal by leaving the cat on. unless i find someone who will past my inspection sticker without caring bout the cat then i'll take of the cat.
but since i put the magnaflow it sounds similar to stock little tiny difference

I'm running a Magnaflow muffler and it sounds sex, I even took a guy that own a Evo X for a ride and he said that it sounds just like his Evo. At idle it has a nice low rumble and at wide open throttle it screams.

Just go with an ebay stra8 thru canister, and leave your cat on. They sound good and are decently constructed for the $$$$$

Hey man I'm running an Ebay N1 style muffle with a test pipe and 2.5in pipping. It sounds really mean I get alot of comment on it. If I was at home I'd take some pics for you so you can see the setup. Hope this helps.

When you have the cash, get a full 3" turbo-back. They are really cheap when it comes to regular turbo-back pricing and have gotten nothing but good reviews. I tried to look it up and find the link to the several threads I've read on the forums about them but I'm sure if you look it up you'll find them.

i have a full 3 inch turboback it sounds pretty aggressive. I have a megan downpipe, testpipe, and catback exhaust. I also have a header. If you got all that stuff maybe not the testpipe depending on how strict emissions is in your area you should be more then pleased with the sound and performance increase.:thumb:
