Picked it up Saturday morning from English Racing and watched it hit 642 AWHP!!! I'll post the video and some pictures up tonight...

yea, the worst is when you sink all of your remaining money into it,then it goes. then you look at the car and remember all the fond memories of its last day running. my last experience was about 900 miles of shear fun before my crank broke for the 2nd time

Man much respect to english racing ..they know dem dsm ...im going to check for a tranny rebuild for my talon...just broke the one in the car and about to use my spare ....nice car dude ..:D:D

Yea even the best of the best will have issues. For some reason our DSM's really do make us work to have fun with them.

Well if you are going to have a failure its going to happen with in the 1st 500mi. Looks to be a bearing which really sucks for me. Still dont have full reason behind it since the other 3 bearings look fine.

Joe does not have to pay for any of this and he at least got 500mi of ripping on it. Sucks he has to leave before he can get it back.

Once we get it out and on the stand I will let you guys know more of what is going on.

Its a Eagle 100mm Crank, Crower Rods, Male pistons.

We had the Machine shop Chamfer the bearings due to the radius on the Eagle crank. I am kinda questing if we got enough Chamfer. We dont do a lot of 6 bolt Eagle stroker cranks. The 7 Bolt Eagle Crank rod combo uses the narrow 7 bolt bearing which have tones of clearance.

Most of the time I am a fan of stock cranks but have seen 2 6 bolt 100mm cranks break and have read of quite a few. So I dont really consider them an option.

Wow, you are very true that the failure will usually occur during the first 500 miles. I am also in SHOCK that you are going to stand behind your work and not charge him for this repair/damage. Most places would give you the usual must be bad gas/over-reved or other b/s story and not stand behind there work.:thumb:I have bought multiple strokers for my mustang and now the talon and it is very rare to find a shop that will live up to something like this. Mr. English It is GREAT to see a stand up shop still left these days. I will keep you in mind for future business also!

The motor is out today. Will have rod and crank at our Machine shop tomorrow or Monday to figure out what our root cause may have been.

My main goal is to do things right. The fact that it spun the bearing with in 500mi and the others look fine tells me it was a problem. If the motor has a over 5000mi and all the bearings seem kinda beat and its making this kind of power then I may no cover it all the way. Will make a hell of deal fixing it but not the full deal.

I do feel once you are past the 600+hp mark for daily use you are asking for bearing trouble on steal rods.

Although there's been an issue with the motor, that post right there says all i need to hear to know that you guys are a stand up bunch overthere. I have a friend that had 2 motors let go at the wrist pin on #1 cylinder and the shop that built is said "that's what happens when you build a race motor" and charged him for both rebuilds... Both times it happened on the dyno with the shop owner tuning the car while the owner (my friend ) had to watch this stuff happen and keep paying up for some one elses mistakes ( i later found why, the triggers were'n't correct and #1 was gettign almost 20* more timing than all other cylinders) So i set it up for him and have been doing his tuning and builds that are out of his league since and the car is still on ONE engine :) I actually have the rods from the blown one in my car now with 2 of them being replaced with new ones :D

I may not have a full shop but NOTHING leaves here without me backing it up as you seem to be doing as well. Glad to know there's some "big name" shops out there that still have some principals and stand behind what they build/sell.... Gives me hope for growing my business which is pretty much based around this type of service...hats off to english racing!!!!!!

Nice power too!
