The stock rear suspension on the 1g well, sucks. Between the active toe, tiny sway bar, squishy/loose subframe bushings, and non adjustable upper arms there wasn't much good going on in the rear end. I decided it was time to start fixing the problems.
One thing a really hate about the suspension is the active toe system. I didn't want to spend $200 on the jayracing kit, which I don't believe works like they say it does anyways, so I had the arms modified. The welds are super solid and those things aren't going anywhere
Heres a pic of the welding and added material

Still has plenty of clearance in the subframe

Next thing on the list was to get rid of the stock swaybar. A whiteline adjustable swaybar will be put in its place. Its 26mm thick vs. the stock 22mm. You adjust it by changing the position of the link, which shortens or lengthens the arms and changes how stiff the bar is.

Each side has 3 mounting spots for the swaybar links.

New bushings and brackets were included with the swaybar.

I don't know who started this rumor that you cant buy rear swaybar links for 1g's anymore. I bought new ones at NAPA.
Here they are with my energy bushings and washers on them. NAPA part #1880233

I have tuners nation mustache brace and subframe bushings, 3sx adjustable upper arms, and new wheel bearings and seals all on the way rite now. I have all the other bushings for the rear end in a box waiting to go in. All the arms and subframe are at the painters rite now. And I have my 4 bolt LSD rear end sitting in the basement ready to go in. Once everything comes back it will go together pretty quick. I will put pics up as I get some more progress done.
Got some parts in the past few days.
3SX adjustable upper rear control arms

New wheel bearings and seals for the rear end

New power-slots for the rear, ceramic/kevlar pads, and new shims

Just waiting on those bushings from tunersnation to finally get shipped and everything to come back from paint. Once I get that stuff this thing will be a roller again finally
I pulled the sending unit out of the gas tank the other day. The sending unit and tank are junk. The inside of the tank is completely rusted and the sending unit is destroyed too. I haven't decided what route im going to go yet. Im considering a JMF bolt in fuel cell, but its only 7 gallons which kind of sucks for a street car. If you have any suggestions on the tank setup let me know.
