numbers????

I didnt bother taping the numbers because that was only the first or second run of the tune. Then Frank decided to stop trying to tune it until I get an adjustable wastegate or an external to control the boost creep. We were trying for 20lbs but it kept hitting 23lbs +.

It made 291whp on that pull but I dont have it on tape.

You can try porting and stuff but the real fix is the ewg so just wait 'til you have $ and go external.

sweet, need to get that fixed then and see what happens, you have something to go by as a base tune i guess LOL. looks good, wish funding would open up to finish mine.

All the porting that can be done is done.
As for going external, I want to do this but I want to try and avoid it with the evo 16g. Im gonna try modifying the 16g's wastegate arm first before anything.

Friday Im suppose to be going to look at some guys FP red setup he has for sale. So if he gives me a good price on everything, I might pick that up and say the hell with the 16g.

Thats what I did. It ran great this winter when it was cold. But as soon as it started warming up the knock came back. Good buy 16g hello Holset.

Well I went out and bought craftsmen tap and die set with a 1/4" #20 in it. I bought 2 1/4" nuts and a 1/4" pipe adapter from home depot. I removed the wastegate and cut it in half with a hacksaw. Made threads on boths ends, which was a huge pain in the butt. I adjusted the wastegate so that I didnt have to pull on the arm to get it onto the wastegate flapper stud anymore. It just slid on and off easily.

I took the car out and the first pull I did was awesome! I can finally go 100% throttle with no knock! I kept getting alot of knock before even with fuel added and timing retarded, well I found the culprit, it was my wastegate. Im assuming it wasnt allowing all the exhuast gases out of the combustion chamber fast enough.

So my first pull was at 14lbs, it crept a little to about 16 around redline. So I turned the boost up more. The next pull was about 17 lbs, it crept to about 19 but held to readline. So I turned it up more, now im holding 20 till redline with little to no knock.
Car is def. alot quicker now. :thumb:

Thanks guys...
I used a clay bar on my car yesterday for the first time. Then a rubbing compound and waxed it. I fixed up the paint the best I could. Its looking ALOT better, still not show quality but way better than it was. That was the fist wax job in about 8 years ROFL

So here is the aftermath....a beautiful looking car and a broken shifter cable!
She doesnt like being clean! I clean her and she breaks

Now onto some photos, I put the stock wheels on for a stock appearing photo shoot. No racing harts here!
Let me know what you guys think! :rocks:

These two were taking right after it was cleaned in my driveway.

Well I finally gave up on trying to tune my car myself.

Turned out all the knock I was getting was just phantom knock.

The car ended up making 315hp and 292tq at 20psi on the dyno at TurboTrix. My clutch starting slipping so the tuner didnt push it any harder. It has more power to give, damn clutch. I was told the dyno reads low numbers compared to other dynos.

But anyway, atleast its tuned now and does some sweet third gear burnouts ROFL

I think im happy with those numbers until I can swap it to AWD and actually use the power my motor can make. So for now Im done with performance mods, now im going to focus and fixing the little things and body work.

Glad to hear she's still holding up. I believe TT uses a dynojet, which actually reads higher than most. Either way, if I remember correctly those numbers are pretty good for the setup :thumb:

Thanks, he said that dyno was the first AWD dyno in the area and tends to read lower than others. I had my car on a mustand dyno before without it being tuned and it made 290whp at 20psi. So, after hearing the tuner tell me my tune was retarded, I would assume he made more than 25whp going from my tune to his tune. If the guy who owned the mustang dyno wasnt so expensive Id throw my car back on there and see what it makes now.

He told me having stock cams is really holding me back and that he was surprised it made the numbers it did. The car was also very consistent, pulled the same numbers back to back several times.
