i just got new spark plugs and wires....cause my old ones were makeing a CEL come up, from cylinder misfire! SO! I got new plugs and wires i had magnacore 8.5 with NGK iridium with the "6" cold range. I just got Accel thundersports wires and NGK BPR6ES plugs and gapped it to about 28-29... theres a pic of my spark plugs are they fouled or "speed glazed" or is it something else... should i go with a colder plug maybe the 7's
thanx,
Sam

Both those plugs look just fine.
I woundn't think your running lean by those pics. I say thats a clean burn.
If the center is black i would say yeah your running rich but its not its all white which indicates a good burn.

Yes Those plugs are lean.

The first one I would do a leak down on the motor. Looks like your having headgasket problems or are you running a fuel additive? Looks like antifreeze, I would have to look at the plugs though. Make sure to mark your plugs as to what cylinder they came out of.

Second pic. You plug looks to be blistered. That looks like lean Blistering.

Electrodes look glazed; core nose very white; few deposits. Plug is overheating.
Check plug temperature value, ignition timing, fuel octane rating (might be too low) and mixture setting (too lean). Rectify before piston rings break or valve faces burn.

tan coloured plug means that the engine is running normal and the air/fuel mixture is correct. Tan is the correct color a spark plug should be and it tells you everything is fine with the engine. You would install a new properly gapped plug. When installing a new plug, replace the old one with the same heat range. A new plug would have square edges that helps the plug fire better

wow.... see if u can figure this one out... i got an oil change, new tranny fluidand radiator flush today and the light went off before they could do and engine diag... the car runs like new ... WTF! im not complaining :thumb: .. im just courious how did that fix it?!
