Hey guys, so after finding out about my cams, I decided to get some stuff together and get the head out of the way, bronze valve guides, nitrated stock si valves, and bc springs and retainers kit, with the fp cams and some milled porting done and the head is done.

Today I had some time to snap some images of what the block looked like, after I took off the head I really didn't look at the block "excited after find cams", and I just wanted to show and get peoples opinions on what every one thinks about.

Also my friend says that the motor might have been rebuilt because the cylinder walls are so smooth, no scratches, and no marks what's so ever not eve the pistons seem worn out, the car does have 98k on odometer, the motor is a 6 bolt it was beaten on before and also by me for about 1 year, 2 years ago what do you guys think.

ps:all this images are with no cleaning to the pistons, cylinder walls or anithing this was after i took off the head i closed the hood and left it, 1 week later today i open the hood and snap the pics.

Dude wtf... you keep opening up your car and finding awesome shit.

I keep working on mine and finding retarded-ass shit that the previous owner ####ed up that I have to fix.

/Jealous.

And nice find!

how can you tell its rebuilt or its got top line stuff?
as far as beeing rebuilt will i have any problem on doing .20 over if its been rebuilt?

Look up topline stuff on ebay and look at what the pistons look like then look up a pick of anyone who pulled a head on a stock block on here and see the difference. Not to mention when I pulled the head on my 110k motor it looked about 15 years older than that block LOL

Shouldn't there still be some cross hatching if it was rebuilt? My motor with 150k still had some on it even.

Depending on the condition, yea some used motors will most likely have some cross-hatching left.

Oh the joys of working on your car, Mike. My favorite was the BS belt.

I would not go .020 over if you don't have to. If you can get away with the specs, just have the machine shop hone it and call it a day. You don't particularly gain a benefit of running a larger sized piston. I hope i'm not coming across wrong because running .020-.040 has been done a million times with no ill effect, just a friendly reminder. Also, if you do go larger, you'll need a different piston (more machine work!).

i mean the cw have some cross-hatching but nothing big at all as far as pistons size, i have all the motor parts including the wiseco pistons .020 over, i thought the motor would be abused so going a lil over stck bore would help seal.

tom when are you coming down to town again? i seen your car last sunday after you guys where leaving the meet i was at dunking donuts and you passed by your car screams out clean really nice ride, hows loran's car coming along? well if you ever come down to town maybe to lorans house or something maybe you can pass by and take a look and my junk box.

i will try to take better pics of the cw.
