ok i have a few questions and rumors need solved. i have a list of parts i will list
safc2
550s
fmic
1gbov
mhi small 16g
afpr
ported o2

can i put my 16g and fmic on without anything else?
my goal was to put the fmic and turbo on. will i be ok with just installing the 2 items? the reason i wont install everything yet is because i need a wideband.
does anyone have any tips on the turbo install? pictures would be great. i tried searching but can anyone please help me out? do i NEED a boost controller to install these? i konw i will for all the parts but for now? i hear people having trouble with the oil feed line. its a big step for me from a t25.

Depending on what fmic setup you have you may have to do some fab with your bumper supports in order to get the piping to fit right. Also, you need a j-pipe in order to get the 16g to bolt up right if I'm correct?

No you do not need a boost controller you can leave it on stock boost for now.

Sure you can install them but you'll want to keep the car at stock boost until you can tune.

ok. so what new lines would i need. and can i use my lines from the t25.
What do you mean lines? You mean the oil and coolent ones?

You'll be fine with putting on the turbo and fmic without a wideband. Just don't mess with the boost.

You have a 95, and therefore almost certainly an eprom ecu.

Do not use an SAFC for tuning. The most important part on your car for performance will always be your tuning tool and the SAFC is only a quarter step up from mismatching parts to lie to the ecu. They used to be a worthwhile part for our car when we had no better options but now they still command a high price because they are useful on other cars but are literally the most limited tuning device you could possibly use for ours. Also, many people believe that limited means simple and this is not at all the case. A flashable ecu, ecmlink, or a custom burned chip are all really much more simple to use than the SAFC. The custom chip especially in that you usually are simply providing someone who is already well versed in tuning with your specs and then inserting the chip into the socket on your ecu. The drawback of the custom chip is that it isn't changeable later if you make changes to your fuel system.

Short advice is to research ecmlink lite. I would normally suggest other options as well but being that you already have an eprom ecu this is almost certainly the best option for you. It may be more expensive than an SAFC but will give you far far more performance even if you have to forgo the purchasing of other bolton parts such as a FMIC. Also, if you go this route then go with bigger injectors. You'll want whatever big injectors you can find the best deal on but I would suggest large enough to run e85 on a 16g which is approximately 900cc+.

You can reuse the stock 2g coolant lines, all you have to do is bend them slightly.

You can also reuse the stock 2g drain line, just slot the holes on the turbo side. You will need a new 1g feed line though, either stock or SS.

Good luck.

so i do have to leave it stock? so i cant put the turbo and fmic without the wideband? what lines do i need that i dont have? im just real confused

I missed this my first time through.

You absolutely can put the turbo and fmic on without a wideband, but you should get one before you start tuning. They can be had for less than $200 and they are incredibly important. Make sure you get one that has outputs, either digital or analogue, but both is best. Most widebands have these outputs but I believe there are still a couple out there that don't so just make sure. Keep the boost low at around 13psi until you have your fuel system in order and can start tuning. Having a larger turbo on your car will not hurt it in any way unless you flow more air than your fuel system can handle. I spent a long time running an evo3 16g with no other mods at all because I knew I was going to mod my car and the t25 on my car had a badly cracked housing.

Lines are pretty easy. You will need to get a file (rat tail file is usually the best which is a tapered round file) in order to enlarge the holes on your oil drain pipe to match the slightly different bolt pattern on the 16g, and you should always get a new feed line. You will need to do a search to be sure of what you want to do but generally the suggestion is to get a 1g style feed line that comes from the head so that oil pressure isn't too high for the MHI cartridge. Water lines are very easy. The simplest bit is to take the front line from the t25 and put it on the back of the 16g then the back from the t25 to the front of the 16g. You will need to bend each of them slightly and you might need to get a slightly longer flex line (rubber tubing, you can use high pressure rubber fuel line). This might sound slightly complicated but it is very easy.
