HERE, DAMMIT!

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237982

ok n00b question here.. i got my MBC all hooked up fine (dejon tool.. sweet!) i'm just wondering what to do with the stock boost solenoid hoses.. i took the top one completely off (this is the one that was going to my intake pipe.. then capped that nipple on the pipe) .. the one on the bottom, that tees off and goes to both the wastegate and the turbo housing, is still there. i just bent it backwards and stuck it in the bracket that the top hose was at.. its still connected to the solenoid though. is this alright? can i leave it on there like that will it screw anything up?

Could not really find much on and install for a first gen TSI.
So if I could get a link or some directions would be very helpfull.

I am new to here just today. Finally i found a page that is talking DSM stuff. I bought a MBC and really have no idea to install it can any one help me? and i want to know how to check how many boost i have after boost up. and i already have the boost gauage installed. how to test it. thanks

nice pictures, are there any good pictures of installation for the 1G?, couse I have been looking but I havent found any
thx

I followed the directions I got with my Joe P and I don't believe I used a 'T' in the hose off the BOV at all. I put a hose from the nipple on the turbo to the MBC and then a hose from the MBC to the Wastegate actuator. Did I do it wrong? It seems to work fine to me? Why tap into the hose off of the BOV if it can all be done right near the turbo?

no you did not do it wrong but the differens will be you are goin to have to acount for 2psi pressure drop from turbo to intake manifold, no you dont add 2 psi to what your running but the boost controller will have to be turned in that little bit more that with the manifold pressure(BOV line) now for the BOV line you are going to also have the added response of vacume to "suck" the ball back to its seat when you let off or at idle I dont know if there are gains/losses to ither way to hook it up but I prefer the BOV line myself. Good Luck and be carefull

thanks your infomatiom. so the Wastegate Solenoid not be use any more,right.. how about the nipple from the turbo housing. not to use or plug in any things anymore ,right??
just the MBC 1 side to wastegate and 1side to the T fitting connect to BOV ,right?? thanks..

if your running the MBC from the BOV line then ither cap or block off the nipple from the copressor outlet, or you can run your boost controller off the nipple from the turbo and not T in the BOV to keep the vac lines really short, ither way you dont want leeks and just be carfull start with little to no pressure on the ball from the spring(if its a ball and spring type) then turn in a little at a time, a data logger would be ideal but if you dont have one with a hardwired fuel pump

I would run 15psi and be happy for a while.
good luck

Vote for the sponsership as well!!

for me of course:D
and you dont run vac lines to the factory "boost controler" but leave it pluged in just stick it somwhere out of the way.

I have a Turbo XS standard boost controller, and going by the directions, I should have a small hose that gose from the wastegate actuator to the outlet of the copressor side of the turbo. Well, I don't have that. I have a line that goes from the wastegate actuator to a T-fitting. From that fitting it goes to the bottom of the air can assembly and the other end goes to my IC intake pipe. Being relativley new to DSM's and turbos, I could use some help in figuring out this set up. I have limited computer time really don't know where to look on this site for such info. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks bunches.

not exactly sure about the turboxs unit, but my mbc goes in line between the turbo wastegate nipple and the nipple on the elbow from the turbo outlet J pipe (which connects to the lower IC pipe). i took the T fitting completely out and put the mbc where the T used to be.

I just installed my MBC today but it seem it didn't help at all
i connected 1side to Blowoff with a T fitting. and 1 side to wastegate
and the hole on the turbo i just leave it and didn't plug in anythings.
and i turned the MBC to lose and didn't help anythings and i turned it tie and didn't help anythings. what happan with my installation. is it boost limted or what. I got a 95 Gst auto. can anyone help me pls!!
thanks

what mbc do you have? the nipple on the wastegate needs to be hooked up to the mbc as the mbc bleeds off pressure accordingly and hides the signal from the w/g causing it to open later (increasing boost..)

I just got a some stuid MBC like the "home Deopt" one.
Yes i connected to the w/g but i didn't put a cap on the turbo housing nipple.. is it the problem.?? and the BCS is still there.. but didn't connect to the turbo or w/g just 1 side is connect to the intake tube and the other side are disconnected. is it the problem about the turbo housing nipple didn't put a cap on and make it leaking or what..
thanks

and 1 more things i just have the stock T25 turbo in my car. before i didn't have the MBC installed i running like 1.0bar. and now i installed
and adj the mbc little bit lose and still running 1.0bar nothing help.
really have no idea what's going on with that. can i get some idea thanks

the turbo nipple hose goes to a T fitting which T's to the wastegate actuator and the stock boost control solenoid. You can disconnect the boost control solenoid completely from the boost hose (but leave the electrical connection plugged in), and take out the T fitting, replacing it with your MBC (note: dont put the damn thing in backwards!). Other people prefer to cap the turbo nipple, and get pressure for the MBC from the vacuum hose running from the throttle body to the BOV. There are minor differences in the two setups, but done right either one will work just fine.

Well its really hard for me to understand what your saying but ill try. There should be two sources for the boost controller youi made right? One that will get the boost signal that could or may have otherwise wetn to the w/g, and the one that actually goes to the w/g. Mos poeple remove there bcs as one of the first things they do. You should remove the bcs completely and ditch all the lines and plug anythign thats not being used. Just make sure that the two sources are hooked up correctly on the mbc and that those two lines go directly (make em short as possible) to the spots they are supposed to go. Do you have a boost gauge, do you have an AVCR? Whats up with your mods list? Do yo uhave anythign else not mentioned, like at leist an intake or something? Please do yourself a favor and do not increase your boost without a boost gauge or at leist some ic piping, rewire and exhaust or something. You said that your losened it and it did nothign and still runs the same boost 1 bar... I hope your reading that from your boost gauge ;) You are supposd to turn it clockwise and tighten the MBC as loosening it does nothing but give the true boost signal to the w/g making you run stock boost. Tighten the sh!t so yu bleed of the signal and increase your boost, just do it slowly and dont run more than 16 regardless.... I would leave it at what your at right now if I were you (1 bar is fine for a 16g). Just be careful :thumb:

Hey, I want to thank all who replied to my thread. Especially the guy with 1g lazer site, you rock man. Thanks again. I can see the users in this place stick together for one common goal...helping out when needed, and also to teach us how to not ask stupid questions.
