just picked up a set on oem 17x8 Evo VIII wheels for my 2g. i know people can run 255/40/17 but are u able to run 265's on them?

The only way I could see this possible is to run spacers, roll the fenders, and make sure the car sits high enough to keep them from rubbing.

I don't read of too many people running 265's on those wheels on the Evo forums though. Most stick to 235-255's and get a wider wheel if they want to run 265+.

I ran 245 on my 1G for a while, it had AGX's with Eibach pro's. never gave me any problems. I went back to 235 cause I got a good price on them. On the topic of 265's, that really wide on that wheel, IMO.

My 245/45s feel super chunky on my 8" wheels.

Can I be the first to ask...why 265s?

im just into wide tires. i like them to stick out alot. im use to it, i got 295's on my Z. ill just stick with 255/40/17 then

Why not? If the car isn't lower very much 255's should clear fine with some possible fender rolling in the rear if that. Of course this is assuming the 255's are on the thinner side of 255's.

Actually i used to run 255's in a 17x7 wheels with a 1 inch drop on my GSX. I loved them but had to take them off because they were my brothers wheels/tires. :( No rubbing at all. It all depends on how low your car sits.
