i have a 1995 eagle talon tsi awd i was driving my car into town today when i heard two very light clunking noises i get to the parts store to buy a coolant temp. sensor and i smelt trans fluid so i looked under my car and gear oil was pouring off my transfer case could this be a seal or has something dissasterous happen? i gimped it a ways up the road and coasting it was making that quiet clunking noise but my gears felt fine and my transmission isn't making any noise what could this be?

Most likely a seal or drain plug came out. You SHOULD NOT of driven it at all. You likely damaged something in the process.

i just drove it maybe a half a mile to a safe parking lot. my buddy told me my t-case coulda binded and shot a piece threw my transmission case cause it is pouring and it wasn't leaking at all till i drove it. So if it was a seal wouldn't it be dripping alittle at a time gradually getting worse this just all of a sudden happened? i hope my transmission case isn't busted it was howling alittle but the trans and t-case was just filled two days before i started driving it

You need to jack the car up and take a look. That is the only way to find out why it is leaking.

Edit. I have a friend that drove his car less than a mile with leaking fluid from the trans and it locked up :(

I'm going today to see whats wrong with it gonna jack it up and take it apart wish me luck guys hope like hell its not a busted transfer case or transmission

good new guys it was just the driver side axle. The axle had just slid out of the transmission and let the fluid pour out the two bolts that hold the axle to the block was missing. :D

Oh myy, easy fix. How was two bolts missed? Hahaha, thank goodness sir. Only time will tell about real damage though. At least it wasn't starving for fluid near the super 'important' parts.
