Manual Transmission Compatibility

I have a 6 bolt 4g63 {NON-TURBO} with a manual trans...
and a 7 bolt 4g63 {NON-TURBO} with a automatic trans...

The auto is bad, and the 6 bolt motor needs work... so what I need to know is can I use the manual trans that was on the 6 bolt 4g63 on my 7 bolt 4g63?

Both are non-turbo and FWD.

Sure can. But you will need to find a 1G 7-bolt non-turbo flywheel for your engine; you will need to remove the crankshaft/pilot bushing (see this post for installed/removed comparison pictures: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/392903-engine-swap-now-wont-turn-locked-up.html#post152479649) from the 7-bolt engine as well as any other plates/adapters used for the auto (obviously); other than those things, you should set.

Don't forget you will need 7 bolt m/t flywheel bolts. Somthing tells me that 7bolt m/t bolts are shorter than 6bolt m/t bolts. You will also need to swap the tin shield between the block and trans. I'm pretty sure they are 6bolt-7bolt interchangeable, but not m/t-a/t interchangable.

Ah, yes, 7-bolt M/T flywheel bolts are shorter than the 6-bolt counterparts. Thanks for that, Kurt.

Starter plates are the same among non-turbo cars, automatic or manual transmission, though.

Ah I see the light now, thank all of you very much. I think my best bet is just to find out what's wrong with the 6 bolt motor and use the manual thats already one it. The guy I bought it from said it was the Throttle Position Sensor... however when I tried to crank it over it sounded like something around the cam gears was squeaking. Any thoughts on that one?

It could be timing stuff , idk take off the cover and inspect it.

Not sure, only tried it a couple times. I knew the other motor ran so I didn't spend any time on it.... turns out even if you have a running 7 bolt 4g63 it does you no good.
