i have a 94 :dsm: Eclipse 1.8L N/T (i know, i know.......SLOW). I've been looking into getting exhaust and i have seen nothing but good from Magnaflow, and i like the way it sounds and would like to run that. I would like your guys opinions on what would go best for mine, like a 2 1/2 was what i was thinking. What would be an estimated price for a full exhaust, going to call some local shops later in the week to price some things out, but wanted some DSMers rough prices before i started. Any help will be greatly appreciated
 
I may be wrong,..... so someone let me know if this is mis information... but i believe you can run a 2.0L NA and fwd turbo cat back....... so any of the exhauast listed for those car will work for yours. the down pipe/front pipe(for the na 2.0) would be diff. I'll check the mitsu part #s and see if they line up and get back to ya.....
 
well mitsu lists different numbers for the exhaust parts.... this could just be size though... let me do some more research and i'll get back to ya...
 
appreciate it. would be cool if that would work, never thought something for 2.0 would work. Like headers, could only find stuff for the 2.0 ad never anything for the 1.8, not sure if they would work or not id have to look into that some more
 
advance auto lists the same front pipe for the 1.8 and 2.0 na, it does list a different intermidiat pipe though..... i've never had a shop put an exhaust together for me, so i dont know what a good price is.. let us know how you solve your issue! i'm very interested as to whether the entire catback would work!
 
Well im not sure because you nt, but i have a magnaflow exhaust on my TSI and it sounds great. I wouldnt get a turbo exhaust for your car, you need back pressure. since your not going to be making lots of horsepower im sure it wouldnt hurt any if you went to a local exhaust shop and have them press bend you an exhaust system...

i had / have a 1g talon that was a non tubo, i put that pace setter exhaust on it, and then put a stock turbo set up in it, it bolted up directly to the pacesetter na 2.5 cat back, i would be surprised if they changed anything between the 1.8 and 2.0, it seems like it would cost more to make another chassis line you know...
 
Nick is right, na motors need back pressure to create torque. i think you may be okay runing a 2.5 though if you are still running a cat and stock front pipe. remember you are allowing the motor to exhale much easier w/ a larger then stock exhaust, the hp and ft/lbs numbers will be limitted by the amount of air the the motor can get through its stock intake system.
 
The 1g maf is good beyond 200hp so you dont need to worry about a translator yet. use a filter like that one, and an intake that eliminates the ribbed rubber deal you have now.
